This was me back in 1986-87

During them times i was the first kid out and the last to get home as the streets felt warmer than whatever i had as a broken home.

Rolling with secondary school kids 3-4 years older then me while i was still in primary school exposed me to so much so young one of the things was graffiti..

By this time i was racking paint from local shops with elder boys and poster markers from primary school, adapted my first tag inspired by local writers smashed up tubes and tracksides.

This was at least good few years before Subway Art or any type of graffiti media publication came to my sight.

The 80’s London streets really raised me it’s not just a caption that was my reality. by @cultural_creative

I grew up listening to pirate radio providing substance for the underprivileged inner city street kids to dream and express creative energy.

S/O All the pirate stations that have massively influenced and helped kids like myself to grow up ears to the streets and break barriers..

This one’s for every pirate radio on air from the humble beginnings in my memory the ragga / reggae stations like PowerJamFM and StationFM in the late 80’s to the magical journey that followed throughout the 90’s with Hardcore Jungle stations that birth the UK underground rave scene.

PULSE.FM, RUSH.FM, ERUPTION. FM, KOOL.FM, RUDE.FM, DREAM.FM just some of the iconic ones i used to lock into regularly then came the stations birthed in the ends, Pressure FM and RINSE.FM.

Those pirate stations provided backdrop music to my childhood memories ❤️

HELCH was a graffiti artist whose work resembled street art.. I don’t think many people on either side of the spectrum really clocked that.

I met him a couple of times really nice guy a honourable man of good character..

May Allah have mercy on his soul ❤️ by @cultural_creative

I love the fact he actually did this on a brick wall a spot it will actually retain longer then some semi legal up Brick Lane, a real graffiti writers spot clocking instinct there king!

I was having a conversation with some London writers the other day in East London about graffiti, life, culture and influences we inject into our surroundings. A prolific London YG graffiti writer asked me if there was a Graffiti hiphop culture in Bangladesh?

I told him how OGs i know from London painted trains in Dhaka Bangladesh in the late 80’s and how the YG’s in Bangladesh are injecting the vibe into the culture and building a organic homegrown scene..

The photo dump from a current Graffiti HipHop Skate jam “ChowRasta” at Banani skate park Dhaka organised by some of my dearest people in Bangladesh.

S/O @bjoy.graff @skech.one for grinding the culture forward regardless. ❤️👏
