I am so proud to share this special episode that we recorded with the Culture REfit community at Impact Hub.  In this fun and dynamic episode, the main topic was the present and future of workplace culture, and how we relate to our different cultural identities across different workplaces and opportunities.

Creating this live experience with the brilliant Carol Watson and the team was an amazing learning opportunity, just like creating all the contents and episodes for the first season of Culture REfit.

I had so much fun co-hosting this evening. Everyone was so energetic and contributed to creating a real safe space for creativity, and to sharing real experiences and future dreams. Thank you, everyone that was taken in Lisbon, Portugal by @culturerefit

Did you know that only 2 in 10 employees say they have a best friend at work? #CultureREfit

And those who do are more engaged, more innovative, and more likely to stay. 💪🏾✨

In multicultural teams, that connection doesn’t always happen by accident. Here are a few real ways to build it:

🤝 Ask about someone’s culture with respect, don’t assume it, curiosity can open beautiful doors!

☕️ How about sharing time during a meal or a coffee break? Some of the best conversations happen off the agenda.

🗣️ Learn a few words in a colleague’s language, it shows effort, and effort builds trust. You can share some new words too!

👂 A good Dica (tip!) is to listen more. Understanding the messages and goals of your colleagues beats only agreeing.

Companies with the most ethnically diverse leadership teams are 36% more likely to outperform their peers on profitability. Diversity isn’t just good for people, it’s good for business. And it’s good for you, because friends and good allies are always welcome.
