Dear softball,

I don’t really know how to say goodbye to something that’s been my whole life for 21 years. You were never just a game to me you were where I grew up, where I learned how to be strong, and where I found myself. You gave me some of my best memories, my hardest lessons, and people who will always mean everything to me.

There were early mornings, long practices, losses that broke me, and wins I’ll never forget. You taught me how to keep going when things got hard, how to believe in myself when no one else did, and how to love something with everything I have.

It doesn’t feel real that it’s over. I’m not ready to take off the uniform or walk off the field for the last time. A piece of my heart will always be out there, somewhere between the dirt and the lights.

Thank you for everything for shaping me into who I am and giving me a home for so long. I’ll miss you more than I can put into words.
