We won another race together!

Every time we go on vacation we search for local races. Usually we come up empty but this time we struck gold. Nikki found the Spruce Railroad 10k, part of the Run the Peninsula race series near Port Angeles, Washington. And everything about it was amazing.

The incredibly beautiful (and hilly!) course, the awesome crew organizing the event (including a fellow @the.cupcake.cartel member), and even the swag! Not pictured here is an awesome blanket we each got for first place, in addition to the artwork, coffee mug, medals, and ribbons.

It's tempting to come back for more of their races. And maybe more tempting to just stay in Washington forever. The hiking, biking, tide pooling, and adventuring can't be beat.

Enjoying each finish line like it could be the last 🩷

Thanks to my excellent Sports Doc I have bought myself a wee bit more ‘low pain’ running time before retiring my old worn down knee🦵and I intend to make good use of it and enjoy every run until the body says no more 🙅🏼‍♀️

When you’re on borrowed time with something you love, it gives you a whole new appreciation for it 🥰

Despite some decent results, my bike fitness has been lagging all year. The result has been my triathlon run times suffering more than my bike times have.

That said, thanks to help from @cupcke.apparel, @smov.ride, @velovetta, @leapcomponents, @velotoze, @ron_wheels, @tririg, @ceramicspeed, and many more, my aero is on point. So much so that it's been masking some of my fitness issues.

Hopefully those days are gone. 450 miles in the last 10 days. Two 100+ with one at full Ironman power and great brick run legs after. Tomorrow is a long run on bike tired legs to really put it to the test.

10 days ago I thought my ambitious goals in Ironman California were toast. After tomorrow, I hope they'll be back. Wish me luck!

🏁 Run Prix 🏁
Fun morning today with the team 😀 @happythoughtsteam

Always great to see my team and friends. Running a distance that I haven't raced in a few years. It was fun to push again on that 5K course.

Also had a chance to witness the great runners from @solemotive. (And confirmed that I'm the store's slow kid for 2nd year in a row.)
