THOUSAND SUNNY COSPLAY FROM ONE PIECE! 🏴‍☠️☀️🦁🚢

I finally wore my Thousand Sunny armor to @comicconla on Saturday after working on this cosplay for MONTHS and logged 410 hours 😭🙈

I wanted to turn the Thousand Sunny itself into wearable armor, so the front of my helmet is the Sunny’s lion figurehead while the entire BACK is the stern and upper deck of the ship. 😂 I also turned the lion-paw anchors into shoulder armor, Mini Merry II and Shark Submerge III into my knees, the Soldier Dock System into my hip armor, and added Wano-inspired waves down my legs.

AND there’s a little scavenger hunt built into the cosplay 👀 I painted tiny Straw Hat figures in their Wano outfits and hid them throughout the armor.

I’ve barely posted because the final stretch absolutely destroyed me. I literally finished painting around 7:30 AM the morning of the contest, stayed up all night. I made it to pre-judging with about FIVE MINUTES to spare. 😭

Definitely not glorifying con crunch. I genuinely thought I had given myself enough time after working on this for months, but this build took WAY longer than expected.

I didn’t place in the cosplay contest, but honestly I still had such a good experience. Getting to bring this build onto a bigger stage was exciting, I met so many amazing cosplayers backstage, and I couldn’t be happier for the winners. 🥹❤️

And technically…she’s STILL not 100% finished. I ran out of time for the cannon bag, sail-inspired cape, and finishing the waves on the shoes, so I’ll be finishing those before @animepasadena 🌊

Wow 😭💙 Thank you so much @jrulison for taking these incredible photos of my Derpy cosplay at @anime.sandiego ! They turned out absolutely amazing and the smoke!? 💨😻 OBSESSED

This was my first time trying a photography room at a convention! I completely forgot at Anime Riverside, but I will make this a priority now!

The photographers, @dat_roshi_photo and @jrulison , were donating their time to photograph attendees while accepting donations for diabetes research. Such an amazing and unique way to give back to the community while creating something special for cosplayers ♥️ I absolutely donated!

And thank you again to @anime.sandiego for inviting me! I had such a great time and will absolutely be back next year 💙

I have a video coming soon sharing more from the convention and my experience, so stay tuned! 👀

I went to the wrong convention, which led me to winning my first cosplay contest. 😭🏆

I entered Anime Riverside as Derpy from KPop Demon Hunters in my original Derpy Warrior armor cosplay, a foam armor build that was brush painted and included a headdress, Sussie, sword, and tiny 3D flower pot details inspired by Derpy knocking over the plant.

A few weeks before Anime Riverside, I accidentally went to Ontario Comic Con Revolution because I thought that was where the giant inflatable Derpy Tiger was going to be. It was not. But while I was there, people kept encouraging me to enter the cosplay contest.

I was too late to sign up at Ontario, but after posting the video and reading everyone’s comments, I decided to enter the Anime Riverside cosplay contest instead.

That meant making my first cosplay build book, finishing last-minute armor upgrades, going through prejudging, and walking on stage for the first time ever.

I signed up as a Novice because this was my first cosplay competition, but I ended up winning 1st place in Journeyman and placing 3rd overall. I genuinely thought there had been a mistake, but the judges told me my craftsmanship was above Novice level.

I still can’t believe one wrong convention turned into all the right decisions.

Thank you so much to @anime.riverside, @legendscosplay, the judges (@beanandcheese.burrito @daybre.b.cosplayin @jonwasabii), the hosts (@itsgoodburgered @michellemaka_ ), the winners, and every single contestant. It was such an honor sharing the stage with so many incredible cosplayers. I definitely want to compete again in the future. 💙

♥️ Amazing Trophy by @artistsanstudio

Also yes, I chipped the trophy less than 24 hours later. Follow to hear that story next! 😭

@cupof_teea shares how she got into the cosplaying world, from special effects makeup to crafting a whole costume from scratch. We’re still not sure how she got the real dead bird…

I COSPLAYED on a late night talk show…and I can’t believe how it went! 😭😂

I was invited onto @goodnightwithbengleib to talk about cosplay and the cosplay community, while wearing my handmade Derpy cosplay from KPop Demon Hunters.

I even brought my unfinished Thousand Sunny cosplay from One Piece, and @bengleib tried on my helmet! 😂🦁🚢

Afterward, I got to meet @keithharrisexperience , the longtime drummer and producer for the Black Eyed Peas, and actress @brittishibashi from Marvel’s Runaways!

This whole experience was INSANE 🥹

How did I do?? 🙈

New Episode Out NOW on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts! by @cupof_teea

My interview on Good Night with Ben Gleib is officially up on YouTube!!

I honestly never imagined I’d ever be invited onto a late night talk show. I’m not an actress or anything, so this wasn’t even something I considered a possibility for myself!

The fact that @bengleib and his team came across my videos, enjoyed my content, and thought I was interesting enough to invite onto their show as a celebrity guest (their words, not mine 😂) is still so surreal to me.

I got to talk about my love for cosplay, share some of my experiences, and introduce Ben and his audience to a community that has become such a huge part of my life. I wore my Derpy cosplay from KPop Demon Hunters and even brought along pieces of my Thousand Sunny cosplay from One Piece, which is still a work in progress! I got to show off some of what I’ve been building, and Ben even tried on my headpiece! 😂 🦁🚢

It was such an incredible experience, and I’m genuinely so honored that I was given this opportunity. I never expected that sharing my silly stories and the things I love creating would lead to something like this.

A huge thank you to @bengleib and everyone at @goodnightwithbengleib for being so welcoming and making this such a fun and memorable experience! 💙

If you’d like to watch my interview, the episode is now available on YouTube! I’ve added the link to the top of my Linktree in my bio! 🥹

This is the Halloween decoration memorial I made to remember our dog 🖤🎃 We lost our 13 year old husky Achilles earlier this year, and when spooky season came around, I realized I still wanted him to have a place in our Halloween decor.

So I made a little Halloween memorial for our dog around the photo and paw print we already keep out year round 🐾

I 3D printed a tiny dog wearing a ghost costume and hand painted it to look like Achilles, restored a jeweled Halloween skull I found thrifting by removing the old glue, sanding it down, painting it black and giving it gold teeth, and then filled the rest of the memorial with pumpkins, flowers, candles, a gravestone and this dog skeleton we’ve had for years.

I’ve never made a pet memorial like this before, and it isn’t meant to follow any specific religious or cultural tradition. I just wanted to make something special.

Achilles was talkative, goofy, dramatic, and basically the most husky husky imaginable. 😂

I turn the candles on every night, and this little Halloween memorial makes me happy and sad at the exact same time 🥹

I think this might be my favorite thing I’ve made for Halloween this year 🖤🐾🎃 But follow along if you wanna see how else I decorate for Halloween!

I stabbed myself while making @itsgoodburgered a handmade Burger chain. So I WAS VERY INVESTED in how this gift turned out 😭🍔🔪

A couple people asked how I made it, so here’s the full build! I started with a burger STL file, then imported it into Tinkercad, added the loop for the chain, and 3D printed it. Then came WAY more support removal and sanding than I expected 😂

I used Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty to fill the layer lines, Rust-Oleum Automotive Filler Primer to smooth out the 3D print even more, and then hand painted the whole burger with acrylic paint.

Once everything was painted, I sealed it with multiple coats of Mod Podge and used satin, gloss, and matte finishes on different parts to make the burger look a little more realistic.

Then I turned it into a wearable chain, hand painted a Good Burger takeout bag, and brought the finished surprise gift to Kal at Anime San Diego ♥️

His full reaction is already posted if you wanna see him get it 👀

I found this poor raven or crow sculpture while thrifting with his beak completely broken off and I genuinely could NOT leave him there 😭🖤 So I fixed him up with foil, apoxie sculpt, and painting. Now he gets a second life as my permanent Halloween decor 🥹 This might be my favorite Halloween thrift flip so far 🐦‍⬛👻🎃

What should we name him??

I learned every armor cosplay needs an after party version 👀 I decided to make a Derpy cosplay after party outfit 2 days before @anime.sandiego 🙈 After @anime.riverside I learned VERY quickly that foam armor is not made for dancing, so naturally I panicked and painted a blue dress I already had into a second Derpy cosplay at the last possible second. Honestly though…it worth it 😂 I was FINALLY comfortable for once.

Now what am I supposed to do for my Thousand Sunny after party outfit!? 👀
