Hello!!!👋 Such a long time no speak! Months and years have past! 🫢🫣people have come and gone and come back again!! Like me! 😂

So what’s been happening??!! Well I turned 50… then I turned 51 🫠… starting to spin the old menopause wheel 🤪🥵… and..ummm I forget the rest! 😂 Just kidding but things do get a wee bit fuzzy at times I’m not gonna lie! 🤣🙈

What else 🤔 Oh! Big changes here at Curious Egg, we’re working on more of our own product designs as I speak which I love doing AND we’ve moved our packing to a new warehouse - we now have a fabulous new team helping us get orders out which has been a phenomenal change 🎉🎉

I’ve enjoyed completing a few really lovely interior projects which I have yet to have photographed as well as having the disappointment of having a couple of big ones put on hold - building costs have just exploded!!

We also started renovating 90% of our house all at once 8weeks before Christmas which nearly sent us over the edge 🤹🏽‍♀️🤯 I’ll post progress on that soon✨

Needless to say, we needed a break! 😵‍💫We just got back from a wonderful few weeks in India which have helped us see out this grizzly January! It had everything we needed to get our wings back, a little adventure, fun sourcing and of course some sun and relaxation! 😎 I’ll post a few more highlights on stories.

So here’s to chatting with you lovely lot again and to a bright year ahead, it’s great to see some old faces back in here and hopefully this old face will get time to be on here more too! If I ever learn not to cut stuff off with reels! 😑🎉✨🤸🏾‍♂️❤️

Phew! I think we’re done 😅what a run up to Christmas - literally! 🏃🏾‍♀️🌲Super busy here but we got there, thank you for all your incredible enthusiasm for our Christmas shop this year we were over the moon with the lovely messages and orders of course!
I’ve also been completing a lovely interiors project - a contemporary orangery- you can get a sneak peek at its little cocktail bar on my stories! Will do a proper shoot early in the New Year, it’s such a special happy space!
Just want to send a little Christmas wish of love, health & happiness to you all in what’s been such a difficult year for so many. Our is token to summon a new better brighter year - Merry Christmas!! 🎉🌲✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Well didn’t win but what a fantastic experience to be shortlisted in the #BIID Interior Design Awards amongst such amazing talent!! Huge congratulations to @blacksheepcreates who won in our category with their incredible Glenlivet Visitor Centre and take a look at @Vawdreyhouse ‘Greenwich House’ project which won overall - utterly jaw dropping! We sipped champagne In the stunning Drapers Hall, London (beautifully restored by @purcell.architecture who gave such an intriguing presentation of the process) and chatted the afternoon away over a delicious lunch and wine. With an impressive panel that included @elledecorationuk and @thetimes we’re still so over the moon to have been shortlisted for our first large scale project - swipe to see our moment on the big screen 🎉🎉🎉Thanks to all the panel and to the organisers at @thebiid for putting on such an enjoyable and considered event! 👏👏👏🎉🎉💫

Hello!! I just got my insta posting fixed! Couldn’t post stories for ages it was just broken and I lost the will to work out what was wrong. Anyway I won’t bore you with the details but it’s sorted and here’s a little attempt at a reel from me 🙈🤣🤣 🍂🍁🔥
We recently had a wonderful trip to Portugal to visit some small ceramics manufacturers we’ll be working with in the near future. Secret project but watch this space!🕵🏼 I wanted to post loads but couldn’t so you might have to put up some backdated posts! 😂🙈
It was so good to be travelling again and this was such a great experience with such friendly people, great food (and wine!) and so much to see.
I actually studied industrial ceramics before I went to art school and although quite familiar with a lot of the processes, see them being done so meticulously and on such a grand scale was just fascinating - got my creative irons fired up so lots of plans ahead! Such a lovely end to the summer and we feel fully recharged and ready to hurtle down runway towards the silly season! 😳😂😂 Have a great week!! 🎉🎉🤸🏾‍♂️

A little post for the weekend after a bit of a long break from posting. I’ve been here in the wings honest 😶‍🌫️ just been super busy with interiors projects. Trying to fit in social posts as well as managing the shop has been tricky to say the least! It’s now like trying to get back on a roundabout that’s moving too fast - it’s those dirty ‘reels’ that did it! 🤢Anyway will stop whingeing now 🤣🤣
If you’ve seen our stories you’ll know we got some amazing news which has made it all worth it (swipey-swipe😁) we’re currently shortlisted in the British Interior Design Awards!! We’re absolutely over the moon - off to celebrate with a wee summer picnic🥂🍾

Afternoon! If you’ve seen our stories you’ll know the Christmas shop opened at the weekend- Whoop whoop!! I think we’ll all be ready to enjoy a good rest this year and lots of people getting their tree up super early! Loving how these maple leaf baubles and pine cone look lovely as decor for autumn too - they’re carefully hand made in iron and look like little sculptures!

Hello! An impromptu afternoon post! Gotta grab these moments! 😁💪I’m just getting a bit excited as we’re preparing for our Christmas shop to open whoop whoop! I know, Hallowe’en hasn’t even been yet but that’s the way things are these days and we’ve had to embrace it against all my scruples! 😂 Look at this gorgeous laurel wreath that’s just arrived!! It’s such a quiet, little decoration that could actually hang around all year on a table or hung on a door not just for Christmas! It’s been beautifully hand formed in metal with a copper, verdigris finish. Count down to Christmas shop opening begins and our glossy new website is launching soon too - eek no pressure! Happy Thursday! 🎉🎉✨

I love interiors where a style isn’t immediately apparent; where a look isn’t forced and items are put together in a considered but not overly contrived way. This space, styled by the hugely talented Cleo Scheulderman has the perfect balance. High design objects can look a little cold, smug and hotel-like if everything around them is too perfect but mixed with handmade and natural textures they whip our eyes into focus and steer the lines of a room. Hello! 🤗 I’m just dipping my toe back on here after a bit of a break. You know the saying ‘if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all’? Well I didn’t...so I didn’t 😂😂. Autumn is here now though and I do love this season of colour and cosiness. It feels good to treat ourselves and go at a slightly slower pace. We’ve been super busy all spring and summer with interior projects and the store, it’s been full on! I’m excited now as the new products are arriving for autumn including this gorgeous maximalist wallpaper entitled ‘No Use Crying For Roses When The Forests Are Burning’... quite! It comes in the most beautiful moody colour ways. 😍
Hope you’re all well and staying safe and healthy mentally and physically! I’ve been popping in every so often but hoping to visit your squares on here a little more now.

A little garden post from the weekend. 🌱I love hellebores, they always seem both happy and a little sad at the same time, smiling quietly in a dim corner of the garden, gently marking the end of winter and arrival of spring. I love that they don’t ‘trumpet’ like a brass band in bright colours. I don’t need that kind of cheeriness right now. I feel exactly like this little flower - happy for spring and for the precious memories we are lucky to be treasuring but quietly sad every single day for not being able to hug our Miko and make more. It’s a long road ahead without him by our side, we’re just gazing down it, taking deep breaths and preparing ourselves.

Thank you for each and every one of your messages, dm’s and emails that have come flooding in, they were like a big virtual hug and really lifted our hearts, the Insta-fam at its best, such a lovely caring place to share life’s ups and downs. ❤️

A week ago today we said goodbye to our little man, Miko. We’ve spent the last week quite lost and just trying pick ourselves up from the floor but the tears just keep coming, our hearts are broken😢. He’s been with us since we got married and we can barely remember a time without him by our side in amongst us at all times. He fitted himself in the little space there was between us in a hug, nosing his way in. He was an extension of us, never really a pet, they say Vizslas are their own species, we never felt like we ‘owned’ him he was just one of us.

He came all around Europe with us living in a camper for over three months all the way to Slovakia before we started the business. He loved it just as he’s loved this past year of Lockdown having us all to himself which is a silver lining to it all for his last year of life here.
.
As a youngster he was exhausting, I’d forgotten just how much of powerhouse he was. Fast, sharp, intelligent, boisterous, frustrating and loud at times but always gentle and so so loving. He had to be touching or lying across you whenever possible. He always had one eye on me, always watching, reading my face, expecting or giving some unsubtle signal about what he needed. Sometimes though he got fed up with us and huffed spectacularly!
.
We celebrated his 13th birthday just a few weeks ago. He was already quite ill by then but managed his little birthday cake with gusto. Since Christmas we’ve been in that tunnel of research, focus, nurture and care, changing and adjusting his meds and lifestyle, hoping and wishing, loving him as much as possible. He was fighting so well right up until the last few days even managing to come out on short walks with us. He made it so easy for us in the end and let us know he was ready so we were then ready. He went peacefully to sleep here at home comfortable in his own bed and with us by his side and we’re so thankful for that ♥️

We can’t imagine how life will be without him but we know by now how grief works and time will help at least. He’s just a unique, vibrant and lovely soul who came into our lives and brought so much joy and happiness we’ll love him forever ♥️ by @curioegg

Morning! Just checking in from the North Pole! It was -12degrees here this morning, we were completed snowed in two days ago and this morning the roads were so icy no couriers could get up here! This is our wintry garden and if you swipe two along you’ll see the my poor bent over bamboos that I had to rescue from under the weight of heavy snow at 4.35am the other morning in my pjs, coat and wellies! Two snapped but I’m determined to keep my screening from the neighbour! 👀there I was madly shaking the snow off them and inadvertently setting off the cow bell that’s hanging amongst them!!
