Artist Feature: Barbara Was Framed ✦

Old frames, unexpected art, and a wide range of styles ~ meet Barbara Was Framed by Jessica! @barbarawasframed

Jessica creates upcycled framed art using secondhand and vintage frames. Reuse and sustainably are at the heart of her creative process, giving discarded pieces a second life. She thoughtfully pairs art with frame and celebrates the character and history that both already carry. The combinations are quirky, eclectic, and completely one of a kind.

Inspired by her grandmother Barbara, who was wildly her self, Jessica aims to embrace character and doing things a little differently.

This is definitely a collection that makes you stop and say, “Wait...where did you find that?” We have a selection in the shop right now, and since she is always working with different frames and finds, there’s always something new to look through.

There’s a lot to love about the work of Forest and Fable! Meet Alex Rosen, the artist behind the collages and handmade jewelry you’ll find at Curio Kobo. @forest_and_fable_

Alex combines found imagery, paper, beadwork, and other collected elements in work inspired by nature, tarot, spirituality, and storytelling. Her style is eclectic and thoughtful, with plenty of unexpected combinations that make each creation feel distinctly her own.

You can find both Alex’s collage art and jewelry in the shop right now, including plenty of one-of-a-kind pieces made with found and repurposed materials.

Have you seen these rugs?! Meet Lovey Lussier Fiber Arts Shop by Shelby Lussier, with some help from her husband along the way. @LoveyLussier

Shelby creates colorful fiber art using tufting and punch needling, all based on her own hand-drawn designs. Her work is bright, playful, and full of personality . Her rugs are sure to catch your eye when you walk into the shop.

But rugs are only part of it! We also have Shelby’s designs as coasters, magnets, stickers, and more. There are lots of fun little pieces to look through, whether you’re looking for something for your walls, your fridge, or just something that makes you smile.
