⚡️⚡️ OUT NOW⚡️⚡️
Episode 1 of Femme Founders with Michele Swanson is out now in @razorcake_zine - link in bio (https://razorcake.org/michele-swanson-lucky-cat-records-interview-by-monet-wong/)

I’ve always been interested in how and why people begin new ventures and what it’s like to get a start up going. I partnered up with photographer and bandmate Madalyn Rowell to do an episodic drop of just this topic!

I had a great time talking to Michele and realized - this is also a very fun way to connect and get to know people better!

What’s Razorcake? Razorcake is the longest-running, nation-wide, regularly published punk print magazine in the United States. Based in Los Angeles, the magazine is dedicated to DIY punk, independent culture, and amplifying unheard voices.

I’m gonna try to put out an interview every couple months or so pending on how chaotic life is! by @curiouscumulus

Helmi was the last person I talked to before spending 5 days alone in the woods. She owns A World Of Accordions in Superior, Wisconsin which is in an old church and I forgot to ask her if she lived there too. I like to imagine she does.
Helmi confided to me as I took her portrait, that her son had died 3 weeks prior and then she had to put her beloved German Shepherd down. She told me she never felt closer to wanting to end her life until then. It felt like looking into a mirror of grief and we hugged and talked about how exhausting it is to exist in the midst of loss, and all the things they don’t tell you beyond the alleged stages of grief. She laughed at my joke about an evil carnie trying to keep you on the Ferris wheel of the 5 stages of grief, right when you thought you’d been done with them all and wanted off the ride. We both laughed when the Jar Jar Binks toy wouldn’t turn off and her new puppy was setting it off with as he barked, in turn setting the dog off as Jar Jar moved.
Thank you Helmi.
