In a world that sometimes feels like it can’t hold space for us all - I am beyond grateful to still be here and for my health. Thank you for all the birthday love over the past couple of weeks. In Arabic Islam means "to Surrender (to God)" How peaceful is that?
In the New Testament it says "Jesus was the King of the Jews".
I grew up Christian and my religion taught me to love thy neighbor. It's easy to fly off the cuff but it takes discipline to rule the monkey brain and to exercise kindness. I choose the latter.

As I type out each letter I am reminded by the amount of privilege I have because I was born into my family. All things I had no choice in. I feel a responsibility to remind some of you on here that there are humans behind these screens and that algorithms do not have a conscious. It is easy to dehumanize someone when you don't have to look them or their children in the eyes. I have struggled to share much on here as everything seems so trivial. In an attempt to take back my humanity as an Arab - I thought I would share some photos of me in Lebanon
