Quite a few new folks here, and I don't think I've ever properly introduced myself. Hi!!!

I'm Kat 😁 I'm a photographer based in LA (SoCal born and raised) and you've probably found my page because we met at a show. I'm usually running around with my camera, but sometimes I can also be found at the merch booth at festivals. I love meeting new folks, and snapping pics. If you see me at a show, say hi! Favorite genres are punk, metal, and EDM but i'll listen to pretty much anything.

Likes: blue gatorade, green tea, overcast days, boba, spreadsheet formulas, mushrooms, apple spice

Dislikes: orange gatorade, grape flavor, red peppers, pumpkin spice, sand

South Bay Baby

Listening to @meggmusic feels like HOME. it's playing hooky to go to the beach. it's pier churros and Special C's. It's OG four lokos from Seaside liquor and after school Fun Factory hangs. it's mosh pits at Suzy's, salt air, and cruising the strand. It's walks on the beach in the middle of winter, and night time playground shenanigans at Sunnyglen. It's sneaking onto roof tops to smoke. It's 3 am munchies at the Kettle and lazy afternoons at Catalina Coffee. It's home.

Megg puts on a show, but she also hits you in the face with a much needed wave of nostalgia and a reminder to slow down and enjoy life.

Bring your mom to work day.

Growing up, I wasn't nearly as appreciative of my mom showing up to support me as I should have been, whether that was school plays or my tennis matches. A big part of that is because I was afraid I would let her down and I didn't want her to see me fail.
I definitely took her support for granted. As I got older though, I loved being able to take her to work events, whether that was shows I was photographing, or table reads for projects I was working on. It felt good to be able to share my life with her and truly see how much she was there to support me through it. I got to see the joy it brought her, and I enjoyed experiencing these things together. She'd always wanted to visit all of the iconic venues in LA, and together we did that. Thinking of her on her birthday today

All that to say, I love seeing moms coming out to support their kids at shows, and capturing those moments is one of my favorite things. Here are some of those moments <3 by @curiouskatphoto

I was 17, dancing to happy hardcore in a warehouse somewhere near the old 6th street bridge when I first saw Toots. I don't remember if we ever actually spoke that night, but the one thing I'm certain of is that they caught my eye. We danced in another warehouse some time later in san bernadino and became friends after that. To know Toots is to love Toots - the sheer joy they bring to everyone around them is undeniable, and it was a privilege and honor to have them in front of my lens 🖤
