Hello! I'm Claire, owner, creator and curator of The Curious Pancake. Founded in 2011, I started The Curious Pancake out of my love for illustration - my long-term goal was to create my own cards and, in the short term, stock a hand-picked collection of cards, prints and gifts by my favourite designers and illustrators. Pancake turns 13 this year, and I'm finally starting to progress with my own card designs.... who knew running an actual business would have consumed most of my time? Thanks so much to everyone who shopped with me over the weekend during @supersecondsfestival and thanks to the organisers of the event for helping me shift some stock! Folks! I am way behind on things because of the INTERMINABLE AND NEVERENDING ADMIN THAT GOES WITH BEING A GREETINGS CARD PUBLISHER, but... I've been meaning to officially tell you all, on the grid, like, that I'm taking part in next week's Super Seconds Festival!

I will have:

- £1 Christmas Cards
- 80p Bargain Cards
- 40p When-Am-I-Gonna-Get-Rid-of-This-Card-Cards
- Loose single SWEARY PENCILS
- Unhinged proof cards that never made it into main production for a Very Good Reason
- LOTS and LOTS more, HONEST!

I've had so many deadlines lately, as well as wallowing in a virtual hot-tub of self-pity, that I'm really behind on getting shit organised. But, man, I NEED your sales, so if you have some spare pennies, please spare a few for me next weekend. Thank you, please.

I had been meaning to get in touch with all my lovely newsletter subscribers recently, but my email marketing platform, OMNISEND (do NOT recommend), won't let me email my subscribers because it accidentally sent out 14,000 abandoned cart emails after a bot attack (which is not an assault on my butt cheeks, you'll be relieved to hear) on my website recently, and they have been absolute fucknuggets in their slow and shitty response to helping me. So... I guess I'll be looking for a new email marketing platform shortly!

Aaaanway, the TL;DR is: I got bargains for you next weekend. Please shop with me. Don't use Omnisend. by @curiouspancake

Congrats to everyone getting their exam results today! Hopefully you’ll never have to cram as much info in your head ever again… random things will stick, like the verbs that conjugate with etre … but the things you’ll never forget are usually outside of school like that old house phone number or the registration plate of your dad’s first car! 645208, C787 GVH. by @curiouspancake

Thank you to my returning customer who placed a Faire order with me yesterday. I know funds are massively stretched for most retailers this year, so I appreciate any orders that come my way. A card what I did make recently that people have been enjoying. I always thought that daddy long leggses should have their mummy short legs counterparts! What’s your opinion on it being an anniversary card? Should I have left it just as a funny image on its own or do you think it works as an anniversary card? Thank you please :) by @curiouspancake

I did this get well card this weekend. I don't know what it is about the character that I love so much, but I keep coming back to them. I'm looking for ideas for annoying situations to put them in next, let me know if you can think of any!

I'm going to do a "driving home for Christmas" one next, and also something to do with them trying to be mindful.

I made their cone of shame out of coloured vellum paper. I think the tiny bit of collage is what adds to my love of the image.
