🚨 This was my first attempt at box braids (on another head excluding mine, lol) a few weeks ago! Huge thank you to my friend for being my hair model. I definitely have some critiques for my next work, but overall I was satisfied with the finished results, and most importantly, so was my client :)

I spontaneously cut bangs back in September yall. While I did enjoy this look, the bangs only lasted a week or two before I started clipping them away with bobby pins. I embraced the change, but much rather prefer my long, layered curls. Next time I won’t be so scissor happy, lol! Another curly cut! I wanted a change after my birthday so I decided to go even bolder with my layers. I followed my normal guide as far as cutting (see previous post), but I did section my bangs separate from the rest of my hair, and I cut my hair WET instead of blow dried. While,
I'm not a huge fan of my dry length, I do love the volume and definition this cut brought my curls 😍 the bangs are also cute for framing my very round face 😉

Side note: As you swipe you'll my hairs process from wet to
dry and may notice one side falling longer than the other— my hair is even, but my curls are far from identical throughout my entire scalp, and I've always struggled with one side shrinking and curling more than the other—annoying, but normal at the least :)

Classic low pony w curls for face framing (featuring Sakari lol). This is a low maintenance style done on day 6 curls. I refreshed my curls with my fave product, Carol’s Daughter Coco Crème. This style was inspired by me running out of gel, and not thinking my curly fro suited my outfit 🥲First photo is my hair freshly styled & damp, last photo is the style fully dry— 5 hours later. NEW CUT ALERT. Swipe to see me transform my dead ends into voluminous layers! I was long overdue for a haircut and prefer my curls to fall in a V shape for more volume. I did this cut Halloweekend on blow dried hair by brushing my hair into a high pony then tying off the desired amount of hair I wanted to cut off. I still have dead ends but decided to cut them off slowly instead of all at once, as this is the perfect cut that rids dead ends while also promoting length retention and volume. Can’t even say this was a quick protective style cause I definitely spent 4 1/2 hours washing & blow drying beforehand 😮‍💨 I have done this style on my curls but I wasn’t a fan of the results and much rather prefer this style on blow dried hair.
