So recently I showed some paintings deep to my soul with some of my favorite artists. Ooouuu it’s hard to describe how much this group of people mean to me, thank you for being who tf you are. Endless flowers to every one of yall 🫀 We celebrated @recessart_assembly 10 year anniversary - 10 years of creating space, knitting a world with intention, love, care, and integrity. Thank you @recessart for building so beautifully and constantly reaching to reimagine what safety, community, and abolition can do. For the past 3 years, I joined Recess to pass down the tools I hold firmly in art making, life, and building a practice with intention and curiosity. Thanks for teaching me right back ✨ I’m in awe of all of you, thank you for being the best part of my week when I’m with you @ assembly. Love you all downnnnnn 💋💞🤪🌀 If you haven’t heard of @recessart yet, do yourself a favor and get connected with them. You won’t regret being introduced to the abundance that this community brings. by @curly.spice
Taking another moment in this season of nonstop movement to be grateful!! I started this painting “Calentando el Alma” during a moment of emotional turbulence, when I really needed to be reminded of the warmth and love I have in my life. Fast forward a few months and my painting is off to its new home after being exhibited at @artscapebmore my first art fair. Such an exciting, fulfilling, and energetic first. I slept 24 hours after that weekend, lol turns out talking to people for 4 days about your work really takes it out of you. Post recovery I’m full of inspiration after the gorgeous conversations I had with everyone that took a minute to step in. Thank you thank you thank you. For those of you who keep requesting prints, they are still available through the form in my bio. The 4 larger paintings exhibited facing each other are all available as framed or unframed art prints. ✨ so happy these pieces are making their way into peoples homes. Besitos!! 💋💋💋 by @curly.spice

Still processing these moments 🫀 eternally grateful for my first family exhibition Sangre de Plata Where should we bring the show to next?! 🥹 mi Abuelita has been inspired and locked in, this show brought so much life and movement back to her. She’s never stopped making art, making paintings, but she’s like a machine right now. Painting painting painting nonstop. Asking when the next one will be, constantly creating. Knowing that this moment gave her such a spark has truly given me endless joy and gratitude 🏹 by @curly.spice

La Mudanza Oil on canvas ❤️‍🔥 In 2021, I started this self portrait, letting my body be enveloped by animals - a dragonfly, ants, butterflies, crabs, a bat. What do they all have in common? They’re all migratory creatures. To survive weather patterns, to reproduce, to seek better resources. Movement is entirely rooted in nature, its instinct, its cyclical, its part of survival. In my curiosity, I compared the acceptability of one type of migration vs another. I grew up with the great privilege of coming from parents who chose to immigrate - and who made the choice and had the privilege and ability to raise my brother and I in deep connection to our family in Mexico. This type of upbringing kept me humble, thankful, rooted while I changed environments consistently. It inspired me to keep moving in my adulthood, to explore other ways of life, to open my eyes to realities outside of my own. To truth that existed past my world. Now, in 2026, I decided to show this piece as part of my family show Sangre de Plata. It’s a part of me and our personal history but especially in this time of tragedy, of families torn, of murder and cruelty, it’s important to recognize the beauty, the instinct, the bravery, the survival, the sacrifice, and the endless love that lies inside the act of migration. For those that have been brave enough to migrate, with family or alone, I see you, I love you, and I hope you’re protected in every lifetime 🧡 by @curly.spice
