🎬 CURRENT TALK PODCAST — PART 1 | JAMAR AKA CLOSED CAPTIONING_

From being the class clown in New Haven to turning that natural gift into theater, college, acting competitions, and eventually getting signed by a New York agency — Jamar’s story is a reminder that the path doesn’t always look obvious in the beginning.

In Part 1, Jamar aka @closedcaptioning_ talks about growing up in New Haven, the impact of his father and grandmother, discovering acting through school, dealing with adversity while studying theater, and the moment he decided to bet on himself with no guarantee it would pay off.

That gamble turned into a win — literally. 🏆

And after years of putting the work in, one conversation changed everything:

“If you wanna come with me to New York and be in our agency, give me a call tomorrow.”

This one is about purpose, preparation, family, persistence, and believing in yourself before everybody else sees it.

From class clown and making skits with Regge—to signing with an agent in New York. 🎭🗽

Fresh out of school, Jamar—aka @closedcaptioning_ was told he was already beyond the beginner stage and ready for the next level. The opportunity came unexpectedly, so he immediately called Regge for advice.

The answer was simple: “Call him.”

Jamar made the call—and was signed the very next day. 💯

Sometimes the work you’ve already put in prepares you for an opportunity you never saw coming.

He really chose Polo over Current World Clothing—in the Current Hot Seat! 😂🔥

Jamar, aka @closedcaptioning_ explained that without his role in Raising Kanan and the Polo style connected to it, he wouldn’t be sitting on Current Talk today. We had to respect that answer… even though we know he really meant @current_world_clothing18 😂

We still showed love and gifted him one of our sold-out “Spread Love Not War” tees. Now he can mix it with the Polo—we’re putting him in the house! 💯🌍

“All Plan B is, is a distraction from Plan A.” 🎯

In our latest conversation, Jamar—aka @closedcaptioning_ speaks about staying locked in on his purpose. Every side move is still leading toward the same destination because there is no backup plan.

“I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but I’m going to win.” 💯

That’s focus. That’s faith. That’s commitment to the vision.
