Finally some time to paint! I tried to paint armour colours using an airbrush, dot filtering and generally techniques that took me out of my comfort zone. I learnt a lot so full of pep to keep going with the rest of the age of darkness boxset!

Thank you @cultofpaint @hennsteele for the death guard recipe, it packs such a punch and is really straightforward to get models on the table with. 😊 by @custodes_in_progress

Finished up my blade wizard! Was on the desk for a year but really happy with how he came out. Wish I could go back and do the base rim through an airbrush. Next time 🌞. by @custodes_in_progress

Long overdue, but I'm super proud to present a limited edition Japan only plague caster for one of my best pals @deathguarddave. I managed to coax him in to 40k a few years ago and I'm pretty sure he has absolutely every single thing in the dg collection now. What have I done 😅. by @custodes_in_progress

Omg long time no post. A few years ago my brother brought me back into the hobby of Warhams with a very thoughtful gift of minis and paints. Roll on 2.5 years and I'm elbows deep in an Adeptus Custodes collection and loving it. This year for his birthday I decided to pour all of my energy into a miniature for his army as a token of gratitude. Thanks Kal, you're the best brother a dude could ask for. ❤️ by @custodes_in_progress

Tau Pathfinder WIP. Feeling happy with the progress and slowly getting to a point where I'm feeling like the weathering is getting dialled in on the infantry. Just need to focus a bit more when creating the frequency of the chipping. It's all just a balancing act of speed for army painting vs getting the right look. SUPER fun though!

Been quiet cos I just became a Dad! In between poo tornados I've managed to do this to try and keep sharp. Probably the most fun anyone can have painting a crate!

After lots of consideration and experimenting. I think I've finally found the scheme I'm happy with for my joint Tau army @deathguarddave and I are making for @40kncoffee! Still some bits to refine, I want to rethink basing, and make the chipping a bit more purposeful but we're nearly there! Now to paint 4000 points of robot goodness alongside @ott.terrain who will be taking some of the minis under commission. I CAN'T WAIT! by @custodes_in_progress

Some of the WIP Venatari I've been working on they are quite far away from 'Done' and I need to do a big pass on them, getting them battle ready was much more enjoyable than other minis I've worked on recently recently. I just wish gw flying stands we're a bit more reliable!
P.S. Corvus Black is now my fave paint eva xox

It's been a hot minute but boy have I been busy! I recently went to the goon hammer open and having decided on a list I was going to take, undertook speed painting 1.2k worth of golden ladz in order to have a competitive edge. Definitely will never be doing that again as I am mega burnt out 😅. I'm going to start back tracking through my process and talk about what I learnt about myself as a painter and also the toll of being a meta chaser! Enjoy looking at all these glorious forge world boxes! There's more to come by @custodes_in_progress

Finally got to see the mini I painted for @tabletoptitans on stream! For those who don't know, TTT are an awesome competitive focused 40k channel with an INCREDIBLE community. This is my contribution to their crowd sourced deathwatch army AKA 'Titanwatch'. I'm usually watching their batreps whilst I paint, and their content and passion for the game has really helped with my mental health during the toughest points of the pandemic. This model is my token of gratitude to the awesome folks that run it, as well as the truly inspirational community filled with great people who I learn from everyday. I cannot wait to see this guy, and the rest of the community army on the field!

Wassup nerds and nurglings! 3 of the 6 deathshroud terminators for my good pal @deathguarddave are now complete!

Scroll through to see some progress pics, it's bonkers to see the difference between based and the final product, I genuinely thought I wasn't going to tie this brief together 😂. I think I could have avoided clanging the champion's face but I feel like I've learnt the lessons and importantly had to put them down in order to keep progressing.

Some cool golden boy news coming soon though... Honest! by @custodes_in_progress
