The inside of a 2020 Python. The larger parts are beautifully machined from billet while the smalls like the cylinder stop and hammer stirrup are MIM, made by Pratt & Whitney. #Coltpython There is very little to “smooth” out on the inside. I have handled tuned examples and you lose about 1/2 a pound DA and some stacking. Without an extended firing pin you probably can’t get much lighter than 8-8.5lbs. by @custom_handguns

#JimHoag mid 70’s Combat Short Slide “Bobcat” conversion. Even though you could buy a Combat Commander after 1970, many gunsmiths and shooters swore by the feel and reliability of the “Bobcat”, with the same long stroke as a 5" but reduced length recoil system. As long as you keep up with Bobcat recoil springs they work great and have a smooth feel closer to a Government than a Commander. This one mates a 1973 Government model frame with a 50’s commercial slide. #mixmaster #45ACP #Custom_handguns #1911 by @custom_handguns
