Of course I made TWO outfits for two nights of Belle and Sebastian #tweeasfuck. Vest is the very fun #justpatternsfreja made with what you may recognize as my ironing board cover (I had extra). Second is the #merchantandmillshattie in linen my mom gave me. I think I got my sewing mojo back and all it took was a desperate need to look cool! taken in Chicago, Illinois by @cut_twice

Name a more iconic duo than cunty little bob and leopard print! Finally got around to sewing up this vintage cotton from the stupendous @the.holmes.pdx sale a few months ago. Top is just a simple sleeves pattern from Etsy-remember Sherlock’s red buttonhole? Everything I see now gets that treatment. Pants are #swmel heavily altered to accommodate woven fabric. Matching sets (you may call them pajamas 🙄) are my plan to at least feel put together this summer by @cut_twice

Dancing into 2025 like…! Dress is #fibremoodtammy made out of curtains from Goodwill! Did you know they don’t consider a SET of curtains a single item?!! Luckily the bored teen cashier didn’t so I got a 2-for-1, for an overall cost minus labor (pattern + printing + fabric) of 38.99 some of my labor is stolen from my job, some is me drinking a beer watching Deadpool and Wolverine 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’ve made some more clothes this year but this dress was by far my favorite and I’m dying to have more opportunities to wear it in 2025! We wear our handmade dresses to see Belle and Sebastian 🥰 have been dreaming of the Friday Patterns #hughesdress for a while, and was thrilled to find this era appropriate cotton from @maloriemakes at the recent Portland Frocktails swap! Love the included lining and option for cup sizes with this dress, and eager to make another one in a flowy fabric. Cut a large with no mods except for a small wedge at the back neck, these things always gape on me. Naturally I did not have enough fabric but this pattern lends itself so well to color blocking! Feels good to get out of my jeans boots and sweatshirt rut even if the weather won’t let me by @cut_twice

I love all shades or red and am committing to sewing more color! First are the lovely #arthurpants in 8.5 oz chino twill from @boltfabricpdx. Truly the best selection and incredible customer service🥰. My measurements put me at 10 but I opted for a 6 which fits perfectly in the waist. I added belt loops to accentuate the tiny top/big bottom look I love. The added pocket is to cover up a dryer accident that led me to further ruin the fabric. But there was no way I was going to scrap them when I could just add embellishment and a place to hold my candy. Second up the #fibremoodlucille in printed linen deadstock from #stonemountainfabric. I’m smitten with this fabric and am so excited I bought enough for this special project. I opted to put elastic in the sleeves (I don’t like wearing flowy sleeves and the pattern gives two options). It reminds me of a Mara Hoffman dress because why spend $600 on a garment when I can spend $100 and every night and weekend for a month on it😜. The bodice is a wrap and can be converted into something more modest. Fairly easy pattern and I managed a passable invisible zipper which I do not care to share with sewing experts at this time 😂. I hope this is your sign to start engaging in a hobby you’ve been curious about. Nothing I make is anywhere near perfect (though tbh this dress cam close). I sew and cut wrong sides together, suck at top stitching, and firmly reside in the “Good Enough” camp. But the joy I get from practicing a skill is worth the frustrations. by @cut_twice

It’s finally sunny and Lunar New Year so I’ll go ahead and do a recap of 2022. It was a great year! I found $500 on the ground, met some new friends, broke a few hearts, gained some confidence to firmly say NO, finally became a driver, and most importantly made some awesome clothes 😉. Today I’m wearing Woolfolk #venligpullover paired with some hacked #adamspants. I wanted something a little fuller through the hips so I used this trusty pattern, graded a size down to the waist. I kept them cropped and widened the legs by tracing an old pair of lantern shaped pants. The pants featured small pleats at the cuff to give the leg a distinctive shape. But because this was a heavier fabric (deadstock 10oz twill from #stonemountainfabric) I went with a small dart on the front and back leg. I love the big pants life, but am really above shaming anyone for wearing skinny jeans because that’s giving 2022 babe by @cut_twice

Made some fancy #seamworkmel sweats to match my favorite fancy sweatshirt to feel good watching the last ep of Emily In Paris. Before the pandemic I didn’t own elastic pants. But as my style and needs and ability to make cool clothes have changed I’m fully on board. As long as it’s 💅🏻. I learned a lot about adjusting my serger as well as the important thing xtra step of basting I will totally follow next time. This is a great pattern for a beginner, and a serger is not necessary at all. Straight size 10 as per my measurements, no mods but wish I added an inch to the rise as it is rather mid. Awesome slippers from Ugg by @cut_twice
