Today I met a man whose story humbled me.

He was once a gang leader. Who has a story that could help many, being shot 16 times, & so much more. Instead of letting his past define him, he changed. He found purpose. He found peace.

It reminded me that no matter how far you’ve fallen, how much pain you’ve caused or endured, your story isn’t over. Your greatest setback can become someone else’s survival guide.

If you’re going through a hard season, don’t give up on yourself. Healing is possible. Growth is possible. Redemption is possible.

Your past may explain you, but it doesn’t have to define you.

It’s never too late to change. It’s never too late to find meaning. And it’s never too late to become the person God created you to be.

The older I get, the more I realize I’m not in control of much. I can’t control people, outcomes, or timing. I can only control how I show up, how I respond, and who I choose to be.

The childhood experiences, the lessons, the mistakes, the wins, the pain, and the joy all played a role in shaping who I am today. What once felt like confusion became wisdom. What once felt like struggle became knowledge. What once felt like questions became innerstanding.

Looking back, I realize every experience was teaching me the truth of who I am. Not perfect, but growing. Not finished, but evolving. And for that, I’m grateful.

The journey wasn’t meant to break me, it was meant to reveal me.
