EP. 2 - Becoming a barber at 35. ✂️

Originally from Australia, Cem made the transition from a corporate career to barbering at 35.

It’s easy to convince yourself that you’ve missed your chance to do something different. That it’s too late to start again, too late to learn a new skill, or too late to pursue something you actually want to do.

But Cem is proof that a career change doesn’t have to happen in your twenties.

A short conversation about taking a different path, starting something new, and backing yourself.

More to come. 👊

HOUGHTON 2026 🍃

I’ve just dropped my Houghton 2026 vlog on YouTube 🎥

This was my second Houghton, and after how magical my first experience was, I went into this year expecting the same thing…

and I learnt you can’t always recreate the same magic.

BUT THEN SUNDAY HAPPENED… 👀

If you’re curious about Houghton, thinking about going next year, or simply want to see what the experience is really like, check out my full vlog on YouTube.

Maybe it’ll give you a little taste of what to expect for Houghton 2027. 🍃🪩 taken in Houghton, Norfolk, United Kingdom by @cutzbycem

Houghtonized 2026. 🍃

Now that the dust has settled and I’m finally coming to the end of this sickness, I’ve had some time to properly reflect on this year’s Houghton.

It didn’t exactly get off to the best start. I came down with a fever the night before the festival, so I didn’t arrive until Friday afternoon. And if I’m being completely honest, Friday and most of Saturday left me feeling a little underwhelmed.

I found myself chasing the magic I experienced at last year’s Houghton, wandering from stage to stage, trying to find that feeling.

I got a taste of it on Saturday night with @_____francescodelgarda 🪩

Then Sunday came around.

6pm. @ogazon.dj stepped up, and suddenly the whole atmosphere shifted. Housey, groovy, intimate, right at the front, surrounded by people completely locked into the music.

And then came @christianbrowne , who absolutely stole the show. 10/10.

That was the feeling I’d been chasing all weekend..
I found it.

Sunday became one of those days where everything just came together. Old friends reunited, new friendships coming together, incredible music, and moments that I know I’ll look back on for a long time.

Thank you to everyone I shared these magical moments with. 🫶🏻
