Day 13 : Slope Trooper

No better way to max out the STEEZ than with the Slope Troopers. I had the idea of making the Winter X Games one of their defining characteristics, and this pose really reflects the kind of talent these clones could have displayed in action. I can only imagine the crazy stunts we could have seen from them!

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to present my Slope Trooper in this year’s Clonetober. Creating my own trooper type has been a goal of mine for a while, and seeing awesome concepts from the community, like @honnid Trench Trooper and @art_of_moore Tank Trooper, really inspired me to find an idea of my own. Snowboarding is part of my life where I’m from, so creating a clone design that reflects this hobby while staying true to the overall Star Wars aesthetic has been very satisfying. A huge thank you to @talon_illustrations for helping bring this design vision to life, taking it even further than I originally imagined. Discovering his art back in 2024 was a major inspiration for me to start creating my own art. He’s been a great source of inspiration ever since, which is why I chose to experiment with his artistic style for this post. And finally, I couldn’t resist incorporating @braltika anti-glare visor from his Mountaineer concept. Given the similarities between their respective fields, it only made sense to include it on my Slope Troopers!

Pilot : Vix | CT-5110
Unit : Republic Navy | Hazard Squadron
Rank : Lieutenant | Hazard Leader
Starfighter : LAAT Gunship | Y-wing
-
Vix was a clone lieutenant who served in the Republic Navy as the leader of Hazard Squadron. The squadron, composed of twelve skilled pilots and six Y-wings, had theirs red and customized with hazard stripes. Defined as one of the best clone pilot in the Republic. Vix would participate in many Space battles, notably during the Battle of Saleucami and the Battle of Coruscant.

Vix has a very special place in my heart, since it’s the first OC I’ve created. He is the reason I started making more artworks, a passion I’m truly grateful I found…

Clonetober day: 13 - Slope Trooper

This is the one inktober adjacent post I have planned this month. This was a unique trooper variant I had the pleasure of collaborating with @cuzly.art to help define some time ago. I was initially hesitant by the prompt but as the project developed the whole thing really came together.

I’m excited to see everyone’s artwork for our snowboarding troop!
