Never thought I’d be spending over 20 years of birthdays like this. But here we are. As I bring you yet another birthday cake to nothing but a silent wall that you reside in. On your birthday, I think of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and the all the days before that as well. You and I were robbed of countless moments, and all I have now are memories that fill my heart with both sadness and joy. For as long as I can remember I’ve been told that time heals all wounds, but over two decades later, the wound is still as fresh as it was that day. It’s a hole in my heart that can never be filled. A child losing a parent at such a young age is like being on a tiny boat in an angry ocean lost at sea. My mind still talks to you, my heart still looks for you, but my soul knows you’re finally at peace, and the thought of you no longer suffering gets me through most days. “There is no love in this world, greater than that of a mother.” Missing you yesterday, today and every day for the rest of my life. Last night was one big blur of emotions. I don’t even know how to put it into words. 53 years in the making. From hugging strangers, crying REAL tears of joy, picking @pjs313 up in victory and celebrating with my brother, and watching everyone celebrate together. Getting hundreds of texts saying how happy everyone was for me because they know how I bleed for this team. To the celebration drinking Hennessy out of frisbee’s. A city united, brought together by a team who they said would never win, could never win. The wait is over, the curse is over, the pain is over, it doesn’t feel real. Kirill, Kirill, Kirill, what do you say about your friendship with Kirill. You’re my brother. We’ve created so many life changing memories year after year after year. People are so quick to judge without knowing the human you are. Your heart is one that I can’t even begin to find the words that would do it justice. You are one of the most talented, creative, selfless, loving humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of welcoming into my life. We’ve seen some incredible sights, we’ve traveled the world together, we’ve woken up in cities and had no clue how we got there. I’ve been your camera man, held you up when we were too drunk to stand, but most of all I’ve been your biggest supporter. I’ve watched you grow ALF from T shirt stamping in a studio apartment in NYC to millions and millions of sales and I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it. You constantly put others first, always make sure everyone is having a great time around us. You’ve picked me up in some of the darkest times in my life and I can never ever begin to repay you for the man you are to me. One of the biggest flexes we have is knowing that when we need each other, there’s never a doubt, question or concern that the other will be there. I watched you find Estee, and just when I thought you couldn’t be any better of a man, she made you EVEN better. I could go on for hours and hours about all the memories, trips, blackouts, and the love I got for you brother, but you don’t have to explain what’s already known.
