That’s a wrap! 🎥

Over the past 10 days, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Malaysian filmmaker, director, and editor Christy Vicknesraj (@cvicknesraj) in residence at the Art Sanctuary.

Like a quiet presence behind the scenes, Christy has been capturing the many layers of life here: artists, community, collaborators, facilitators, visitors, elders, nature, the cows, and the moments in between. From the ground, from the sky, and from perspectives we rarely get to see.

Christy, thank you for your care, dedication and for joining us on this journey.

And to everyone who has helped make these past 10 days possible, whether by sharing your time, stories, creativity, presence, support or simply allowing us to capture a glimpse of what makes this place what it is, thank you. This story belongs to many hands, hearts and moments.

We can’t wait to see the story that unfolds. ✨ taken in Perth, Western Australia by @cvicknesraj

Some kind words from @pranaphysioandwellness at our Community Day on the weekend

We agree, the Art Sanctuary is unlike any other space in Perth 😉 and we love organising these opportunities for you to come together and experience the magic.

For those who grew up within these halls, the rhythm of tradition is never separate from renewal. It lives on through every artist, every collaboration, every offering made with sincerity and devotion.

Hearing reflections like these from Mavin Khoo reminds us that the work of preserving tradition is not about standing still, but about allowing it to breathe through new voices, new bodies, and new generations.

✨ Behind every Arangetram is a journey unseen years of discipline, devotion, perseverance, and love for the art. ✨

In this special glimpse into the journey, the teacher shares reflections on guiding these young dancers through their Arangetram journey from their very first steps to this important milestone on stage.

An Arangetram is not merely a performance, but a beautiful offering shaped by dedication, trust, and tradition. 💫

Join us as we celebrate these rising artistes and the journey that brought them here. taken in Shantanand Auditorium by @cvicknesraj

The Artiste’s Dream is more than a show.

It’s a space that stays with you. One that grows alongside the people within it through music, movement, friendships, love, and the stories carried forward from one generation of artistes to the next.

Years later, many return not just carrying what they learnt from it, but helping shape that same experience for others too.

Because the dream was never meant to end when the show does ✨ taken in Shantanand Auditorium by @cvicknesraj

Sometimes the land speaks in ways that provokes us to simply stop and listen.

We are deeply grateful for the synergy and deep partnership with the @art.sanctuary.perth without which we could never have brought the 2026 edition of The BhuMeJha Project to life at @perthfest by @cvicknesraj
