If you know me, you knew 𝘩𝘪𝘮. My very best friend. My handsomest man. My shadow… My soulmate.

I can’t believe I’m writing this. It’s taken everything in me to gather the strength to finally do so.

Last week, my Tommy - my perfect, beautiful boy - passed away suddenly. It only took 37 minutes for my entire world to turn upside down.

It wasn’t even 9 a.m. yet, was checking emails at my computer and that’s when I heard a crash. Before I could even comprehend what was going on, Tommy scattered to his bed next to me and started having a seizure. Then his chest stopped moving. The next thing I knew, my neighbor and I were rushing him to my car then my baby was put on a stretcher and rushed into the hospital.

I fell to my knees screaming when the Vet told me Tommy was gone. He just had his yearly checkup 3 weeks prior, so I was refusing to let them stop compressions. 😔

But they told me that once the seizure started, my baby’s health quickly deteriorated. They said it turned into a heart attack, causing what they think was a tiny unbeknownst tumor near his heart to rupture forming a lot of blood around his heart, ultimately ending in heart failure.

A part of me died with him that day. Tommy wasn’t my pet, he was my family. My most loyal companion. My truest love. I’ve cried every day since you left me puppy. You weren’t suppose to go yet. I’m so lost without you, and I miss you more than words could ever try to describe. I physically feel my heart ache when you don’t run into the room when I make funny noises, forgetting you’re no longer with me anymore. No more morning & night-night snuggles. No more ears down with huge puppy eyes to greet me when I walk through our front door. No more laughs that you filled my days with with your weird little quirks and unbelievably cute spazziness.

Our love for each other was so beautiful. We had the best life together. I was the luckiest girl in the world to be your mommy. 😢

Our family and I planted a special tree in the backyard with a beautiful plaque, in honor of you, Tommy - my pride, my joy, my angel 😔🤍 - it will be there for all of us to visit you puppy. Until we meet again. I love you. by @cvkhan

My best friend got married this weekend ♾️

It was absolutely beautiful.
