Chen Wu is a London-based conceptual illustrator and animation director originally from Taiwan.His practice begins with a deceptively simple question: what happens when you look at an ordinary thing long enough that it stops being ordinary?Through illustration and moving image, he transforms everyday objects into surreal visual metaphors, finding the strange inside the familiar, and the familiar inside the strange.This philosophy has found its most devoted subject in the egg. Summer has arrived in London.The sunlight lingers a little longer, the sky stays soft after 9pm, and suddenly even ordinary corners begin to feel cinematic.I’ve always liked the idea that art doesn’t have to live inside galleries.Sometimes it quietly exists above a dining table, beside a toaster, or next to a bowl of fruit — becoming part of daily life.This series of egg paintings was inspired by small moments of a London summer : rooftop chimneys, clothes drying in the sun, garden plants, and backyard pools.A space where everyday life and imagination can exist together.倫敦夏日的陽光停留的時間稍長了一些，晚上九點以後天空依然柔和，連平凡的角落也彷彿有了電影般的氛圍。一直認為藝術不只局限於美術館，它可靜靜地存在於餐桌上方、烤麵包機旁或水果碗邊，成為我們日常生活的一部分。這組蛋畫的靈感來自倫敦夏日的點滴：屋頂的煙囪、陽光下晾曬的衣物、花園裡的植物和後院的泳池。一個日常生活與想像力可以共存的空間。#adobe #behance #buckuback #creativeboom #animation by @cwart.tw

Egg in London 🇬🇧8 years ago, a few “eggs” sparked my first connection with London. The summer banks of the Thames planted a seed in my heart: a deep desire to live in this city. Unexpectedly, my career took me to Shanghai for four years before I finally had the opportunity to return three years ago. Luckily, I obtained a visa and stayed, growing into someone I never imagined I’d become.Clients in London are often curious: why do eggs constantly appear in my work? I always share the story with them—I suppose it’s my strategy to stay memorable in such a big city. While years of commercial design have occasionally worn down my passion, these seemingly random eggs always lead me to unexpected places.My third year in London.This big city always full of “eggs” to discover. -八年前因幾顆『蛋』第一次與倫敦結緣，夏日的泰唔士河畔默默地在我心中埋下了想在這裡生活的想法，沒想到之後因工作輾轉在上海停留了四年，直到三年前才有機會重返這裡，並幸運地拿到簽證留了下來，並在這裡長出了從未想像過的模樣。在倫敦的客戶經常很好奇：為什麼作品裡總是有蛋？我每次都會認真的跟他們分享這個故事（這也算是種在大城市中讓別人記住我的策略吧？）這幾年做商業設計其實多少磨損了一些的熱情，但每次這些看似隨性的蛋，總能帶我走向意想不到的地方。倫敦是一座大城市有許多「彩蛋」值得去探索 🥚🐣#london #visualart #poster #buckuback #visualsnack by @cwart.tw
