Thesis 2026
Bachelor of Fine Arts
Steel, ceramics, chain, metal wire

This work touches on themes of generational inheritance, redefining femininity, nonbinary aspects of industrial sculpture & the expectations placed on women in their everyday lives.

Meshed by a mix of welded structures alongside of ceramic sculptures, it works to mend the gap between the two contrasting materials and the space in which they exist cohesively. taken in DAAP (official) by @cweaverart

Hybrid Objects for Intermediate Sculpture

This assignment encouraged us to think about what “thingness” means in the age of digital media. How can sculptors utilize digital tools to help push their work to a further extent?

Spending two weeks at @1819innovationhub was extremely informative and helpful! I learned how to 3D scan an item that can be immediately translated into an STL file to then 3D print.

As an artist, asking yourself to focus on material and form instead of concept can be intimidating and scary, but this project opened up a whirlwind of tools and ideas to continue to question and research. by @cweaverart

SOMETHING ABOUT WOMEN IN MALE DOMINATED SPACES 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Process photos/videos from my thesis semester. This work consumed every inch of my mind for 4 months. Reteaching myself to weld, changing the form as time passes, and adapting to the endless possibilities that come with industrial sculpture. by @cweaverart

Final project/critique for my undergrad at @daapsoa . So bittersweet.

These silly little guys are an ode to rain chains, my time spent at DAAP, the lifelong friendships I leave with, the magnitude of nature spaces in city campuses, and a connection to my thesis work as well.

My first week w/ these high schoolers! I’m so blown away by their talent, already. For the past two weeks, these students have participated in Intersession (a program where the kids pick the field trip they will be at for the full two weeks). I loved spending time with them, and getting to show them why Queen City Clay is such a great space. taken in Queen City Clay by @cweaverart

In four days, it will be two months since my sister took her own life. As an art student, I am constantly reflecting on the idea of existentialism and one’s purpose on this earth. Losing her has magnified that thought, and her existence has flooded my mind while trying to think of concepts for my work.

For my final printmaking project, I chose to teach myself cyanotype printing. It is a photographic process that uses light sensitive materials to expose an image. I chose to use images of her, places we’ve been, and the flowers from her funeral.

This process has been challenging, yet rewarding. It requires trial, error, and experimentation. Somewhat resembling the process of grief and overcoming a great loss. There is no rule book on healing from a suicide, and her decision does not redefine the beauty my sister brought to this earth. I hope to continue to work with this technique and expand my skills, while also accepting the beauty and frustration that comes from art making.

I miss her everyday, and will never stop reflecting on her existence through my work. She is my greatest concept. by @cweaverart
