June was quite the eventful month - I visited 3 cities ✈️(Vancouver, San Francisco, Houston) while attending 3 World Cup matches ⚽️🏆 (Türkiye-Australia, Paraguay-Türkiye, Brazil-Japan). Hung out with old friends, made new friends, and played in a high school reunion basketball game at my old stomping grounds … GO BEARS! 🏀🐻 The real highlight, however, was celebrating my mom’s 77th birthday! ❤️🎂

I am overflowing with gratitude & looking forward to see what the back half of the year will bring. 🙏🏾

Dane and I have been friends since 9th grade as basketball teammates. He's one of the most sincere, loyal, kind, generous and resilient people I know. He might not remember this, but he helped me get through one of my hardest times back in 2019 - just by reaching out, listening and then proceeding to tell me the parable about the bamboo tree; which shifted my perspective and got me on track with personal growth and self development. So there was no way I was going to miss his wedding; even after flying half way across the world from Tokyo back to Portland a couple days before. Needless to say, it was worth the trip and a great time was had. Congrats to Dane & Sydni! 🎉🥂

I can't even put into words how amazing Tokyo is! My only regret is not staying longer so I could explore other cities in Japan. However, I did make time to fly down to Manila to see my longtime homie from college for a couple days, who showed me the best time - and I will definitely be going back there for longer. My bestie flew out from France to join us, which was very special. Also, randomly connecting with a couple of friends from Texas who were also in Japan with their son was the icing on the cake. Memories were made. Connections were built. Lots of steps were taken. Didn't get much sleep. Good food and libations were enjoyed. 10/10 - I highly recommend. Where to next? Stay tuned. 😉🇯🇵🇵🇭🫶🏾

I been dealing with patella tendonitis for the last few months & haven't picked up a ball in 6 weeks; and needless to say, it's been frustrating af. But with the help of my homie, Jay @stfhouston I'm feeling better than ever; and yesterday I was not only able to dunk once, but TWICE … easily! I’m still not 100%, but I'm getting there. Oh yeah, the mid-range is still on point too! 👌🏾 Mortimer, we’re back! 🤣😤💪🏾🏀❤️

Where do I begin? Outside of my family, no one has known me longer than Summer & Jay. They were my very first friends when I moved to Houston from Jamaica in 1986. So of course when I received the invitation to Jay's wedding, I had to be there. They are not just friends, they are family. Their kids call me Uncle, their mom calls me son, and Summer & Jay still call me Andre (my middle name that my family refers to me as - in fact, I didn't know my name was Carl until I moved to Houston and got enrolled in school 😅). I even introduced Summer to her husband our freshman year in highschool. 😉 Friendships like this don't come often and I'm grateful that we've remained connected over all thess years, and here’s to lifetime of friendship and great memories. Congrats to Jay & Nina - welcome to the family! ☺️👰🏻🤵🏼♾️🥂🫶🏾

Congrats to Matt & Angel! 🥳 I didn’t make it to the ceremony, as I was in another wedding; but I rushed to the reception as soon as I could to celebrate this beautiful couple. The Lareau family has embraced me and shown me mad love over the last 5 years, so there was noway I was going to miss out on this event - and what an extravaganza it was! I had the honor of being a groomsman in Jake & Rachael's wedding a few weeks ago. With 200 guests in attendance to witness them exchange vows, you could definitely feel the love in the air; as these two were made for each other. I'm grateful for the brotherhood that Jake and I share. Guadalajara has become one of my favorite destinations. I went a few weeks ago; and needless to say, a good time was had. We took an excursion to Tequila to visit Jose Cuervo and Cantaritos. Attended game 3 of the Mexican World Series featuring Guadalajara vs Mexico City. We got to experience a world famous Mariachi band perform with an orchestra. Mix all that up with watching Canelo vs Crawford fight (in Canelo’s hometown), great food, good drinks, cigars, and good scenery with the homies - 10 out of 10! I'm even inspired to learn Spanish. 😁

My mom & lil sis came out to visit for a few days, and mom did what she does best and threw down in the kitchen.
