Yet another Sesame Street cap I helped to illustrate for Overlord dropped a few days ago! The Muppet hats were already a joy, but as a lover of Sesame Street’s catalog of original and experimental animation (especially Bud Luckey’s cartoons), I was really tickled to have the chance to play with the iconic Alligator King! On Monday I finished this pet caricature commission of Tupelo, a recently deceased dog who caught dozens of skunks in his family’s neighborhood. Drawn on 9x12 frosted vellum with wax pencils. I’m open for further pet commission work—send me a message if interested!

Last week, Overlord unveiled two new Sesame Street caps that I helped to illustrate! There were necessary tweaks needed to match Sesame’s branding guides, but I’m really pleased with how much of my drawings are in tact here. It was also my idea to have Frazzle with his hat and cane from “Fuzzy & Blue (and Orange)!” Thanks again to Overlord and Sesame Workshop for allowing me the chance to play with these characters!

10/10 recommend taking a trip to another country to meet old pen pals and just hangout!

1) I had the opportunity to meet FRAGGLE ROCK puppeteer and suit performer Trish Leeper, so I made this illustration of her character Tosh Fraggle (with her pet Beastie) as a gift for her.

2) “If I can make one really dorky nerd request, could I have you sign my copy of the FRAGGLE ROCK book?”

3) Me with Al and Mark, and their lovely pal Cheyenne!

4) My first pineapple pizza—you’re crazy if you think it’s gross! Splitting one of the top-rated pizzas in Toronto with the three of them while watching THE MUPPET MUSICIANS OF BREMEN will be a very cherished memory going forward.

5&6) A fun visit to the workshop of Canada’s premier puppet artist Ronnie Burkett to talk shop and see his beautifully-crafted hand puppets in person!

7) Obligatory poutine at Fran’s Diner.

8) Sharing sandwiches from Lambo’s at one of Toronto’s many pretty parks!

9) Drinking game: take a shot for every time we watched animated shorts at Al’s apartment.

10) One of the best Banh Mis I’ve ever had! With the rich influence of Asian culture in the Toronto area, I knew I had to have one while I was in town, and Banh Mi 365 delivered!

11) Meeting another of Al & Mark’s pals, Dani! (And her boyfriend Dex!)

12) You ever just see a nice skyline and just think, “I’m gonna remember this moment…” taken in Toronto, Canada by @cwroederer
