Healthcare runs through Marissa Orzame’s family. With two grandmothers who were nurses and a mother who is a pharmacist, she’s following a path inspired by generations before her 🇵🇭

A second-year physician assistant student at CWRU, Orzame hopes to carry that legacy forward by advocating for diverse communities and helping patients feel seen and understood. This Filipino American History Month, link in bio to learn how she plans to bring that commitment into her future career 🔗 by @cwrupaprogram

Time flies when you’re having fun! 🩺

Just like that, our Class of ’27 finished their third clinical rotation and is back for Callback Day #3!! by @cwrupaprogram

Congratulations to our Class of 2027 students Eleanor Wang and Heidi Watkins on completing the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon this past weekend! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

The @nationwidekids Marathon raises funds and awareness for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, supporting pediatric research, patient care, and health equity.

Ellie said, “Marathon training during PA school was tough but certainly doable! I truly wouldn’t have done it without Heidi (she’s very persistent). Meeting up with her to train kept us connected through our busy clinical schedules and made for many meaningful memories together. The marathon itself was very fulfilling and meaningful.”

Heidi added,
“The race itself was amazing, and the camaraderie and support you’ll feel is so inspiring and pushes you to do more. 10/10 would recommend impulsively signing up for a race and (strongly) encouraging friends to do it with ya!”

Congratulations Ellie and Heidi! What an incredible accomplishment!💙 by @cwrupaprogram

This weekend, our PA-S1 and PA-S2 students volunteered at the Medworks Medical & Dental Megaclinic at Huntington Bank Field! Students had the opportunity to give back to the Cleveland community by providing glucose screenings and foot exams.

We’re so proud of our future PAs for putting their skills into action and demonstrating the importance of accessible healthcare! 👏 by @cwrupaprogram

Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story. Today, CWRU’s future PAs wear pink in honor of those affected by breast cancer. As we celebrate PA week, we are reminded that some of the most important care we will provide will come through compassion, presence, and support during life’s most difficult diagnoses. 💗 #breastcancerawareness by @cwrupaprogram

Congratulations to our Class of 2027 student, Isabella Hannigan, who was awarded the Physician Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship! 🩺 🦴

Bella made it to the top ten finalists for the scholarship. She wrote an impressive article, Efficacy and Safety of Perioperative GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Use in Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Review, and she was selected as a scholarship winner!

The Physician Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery invited Bella to attend their annual CME conference in San Diego, California last week where she presented her paper! This is such a well-deserved honor, Bella, and we are very proud of you! 💙 by @cwrupaprogram
