POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In honor of one of my thesis pieces making its way into a 7th gallery, I wanted to finally post about it on here. This work is my own practice of applying cyanotype to glass and physical objects through the process of coating them in photographic emulsion and exposing them to UV light. Having to research the process myself and work from the ground up for this project to create this exhibition is my most rewarding achievement to date. I love and appreciate how everyone has engaged with the work.
The full artist statement, higher quality photos, and more are on my website in my bio.
I spent a lot of grueling hours in the darkroom manifesting this work in college, and am so incredibly proud of what I managed to create. My time at UofL was not easy. I lacked support, was met with claims that I should stop making art, that I wasn't cut out for it, and had to fight every day I was in school to graduate and be respected, but it made it all the more relieving and prideful when I had my installation finished and my classes over with. I want to thank @rachelsingel for being the best mentor I could have ever asked for and the time she took to help me on days I thought I couldn't do it anymore. She gave me strength to continue this work in a way still meaningful to me and others, advocated for me daily, and gave me the motivation to continue making this work something worth being proud of. She's one of the most wonderful people I've ever met and I am excited to continue assisting her and working under her for the years to come.
Currently, Will The Circle Be Unbroken is shown in @unionstreetgallery for Face to Face, and I appreciate them having also shown One Piece At A Time last January.

Celoubrate Print on 4/20/24 !! all the pictures with a date in the corner were taken on my tiny Kodak easyshare :)
I had such a fun time at this event organized by @evplart! I'm so glad I could volunteer and be a part of such a great event at the Portland museum ‼️
this print of Laura Palmer and Dale Cooper getting his face bashed in took about 7-8 hours for me to carve ! it was a big task for only my second relief carving ever but it was so rewarding, I can't wait to make more prints. thank you to everyone that came along to Celoubrate and made it happen!
i had a film camera while I was there and will hopefully have the images sent off for developing soon :) taken in Louisville, Kentucky by @cyanomads
