OUT NOW - CITYSCAPES: TAYBEH BANI SAAB

About a year and a half ago, I moved back to my hometown after spending years away.

I didn’t know then that carrying a recorder around with me would turn into an album.

I recorded children shouting and playing in the streets, wedding celebrations outside my window, fireworks, war, air raid sirens, ballistic missiles exploding in the sky, fragments falling in the distance, rain in Wadi Hamdan, conversations, silence, laughter, uncertainty, and the sounds of everyday life that slowly became part of my routine again.

Built from field recordings gathered throughout Taybeh alongside original compositions for synthesizers, electric guitar, my voice, lyrics and electronics, Cityscapes: Taybeh Bani Saab exists somewhere between day-to-day reality and dreamlike memory. Through sound art and storytelling, I wanted to transform ordinary moments into something immersive, emotional and lasting.

It’s probably the most personal record I’ve released so far. Everything on it was recorded, written, performed, produced, mixed and mastered by me from my home studio in Taybeh.

Thank you to everyone who has listened to my music and mixes, come to my shows, tuned into Witchy Hour, supported a release, shared a kind word, or followed my journey over the years. You are part of this story too.

Cityscapes: Taybeh Bani Saab is available now on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms.

Presented in collaboration with @agressive_s_ as part of the Cityscapes series on Station Station Radio (France).

Thank you for listening.
