HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACO!

The heartbeat of Cycle2Ride.

Some people coach. Some people lead. And then there are people who give so much of themselves to everything they do.

Jaco Kotzé is that person for Cycle2Ride.

The time. The energy. The patience. The knowledge. The endless encouragement. And the genuine care he has for every rider who who gets in the saddle with us.

So much of the Cycle2Ride vision can be seen in what Jaco does every day. Creating opportunities, opening doors, building confidence, nurturing potential and helping young people discover what they are capable of.

It's so much more than cycling.

Jaco, thank you for being the person you are and for giving so much of yourself to Cycle2Ride and the young people who are part of it.

We hope you have a birthday as special as you are to all of us.

Happy birthday, Jaco!

RACING IN BELGIUM

@ferdibotha_velo has been racing in Belgium since 14 July, once again representing KVC Meetjesland, after also riding for the club last year.

It's been a solid stint of racing, with several Top 10 and Top 20 finishes, including two 3rd places.

On Wednesday, Ferdi took the opportunity to watch the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen & Omloop van het Houtland before heading into his final race weekend in Belgium.

One last weekend!

📍 Saturday: Lichtervelde
📍 Sunday: Houthulst

Good luck for the final two races, Ferdi! We're rooting for you all the way from home.

WCSC SERIES FINALE.

The final round of the @wc_schoolscycling Series is tomorrow at @bloemendaltrailpark

A season of early mornings, training, new skills, big smiles, tough days, breakthroughs, friendships and plenty of time on two wheels.

Every rider has their own story. Every rider has put in the work. And every rider has come a little further than where they started.

Tomorrow, we celebrate the journey and enjoy the final round of the series together.

Let’s go!

Race fuel that makes a difference.

A big thank you to @enduren for sponsoring the race fuel for the Bottelary Hills Conservancy Development Team at Western Cape Schools Cycling #4 in Malmesbury.

Most of the riders improved on their previous results and were able to compete with more energy and confidence, thanks to access to more suitable race day hydration and nutrition.

We believe Enduren played a real part in helping these young riders perform at their best.

From the whole team: Dankie Oom Barry!

ROOIBOS MTB

A strong day of racing for two of our riders.

Benito D’Andrea claimed the win in his age group and finished 7th overall in the 55km race.

In the 30km race, Barend Van Zyl took the overall win, finishing more than 7 minutes ahead of second place, and securing the top spot in his age group too.

Well done, boys! 👊
