Fresh new rig for a favorite customer of mine, Barry. (Yes, these are consumer direct bikes but when you don’t sell bikes through the shop to begin with, it stings a lot less.) This one was brought in loosely assembled so I went ahead and dialing in the SRAM AXS drivetrain, cut the steerer tube and swapped the stock wheels and bottom bracket for the cream of the crop (IMO) @whiteind . BB is their T47 w/ stainless steel bearing option, hubs are their CLD also with SS bearings laced to customer supplied rims with Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes. Stoked how this one came out and know that it’ll be put through its paces as Barry is a beast on the pedals.
Big thanks to him for always trusting the process and leaving me be until I let him know I’ve finished the job. (It’s amazing how much better your rig will turn out if there’s not text after text asking when it’ll be done.) Appreciate you and your continued svpport my friend.

Recently, I had the pleasure of working on these two Bomber Cycles cruisers for the now retired owners of @paragonmachine
I’m drawing a blank of who the owner/builder is of Bomber, but he was definitely a prominent figure in the east coast frame building crowd. (If you know, please chime in!) Anyhow, these came through originally with one speed coaster brake hubs on em but the owners wanted a bit more range so I replaced each of the rear hubs with tried and true Shimano Nexus 3 speed hubs. The ratio is perfect now to climb some hills, cruise the flats or even get em going to a pretty decent top speed in the high gear. Juuust enough for all of it. Of course I went through the rest of em and overhauled the bottom brackets, degreased chains and gave em a compound/wax buff.
Can’t wait to see these roll up to Petaluma Speedway or a local beer joint.

Good lord this one is a fvckin looker!

I’ve been wanting to try mounting these vintage wheel covers on my Stingray for awhile now and can’t tell ya how much I love the result. Took some time to figure it all out but it was all worth it. These were on my old v-drive boat trailer but after one came off on the highway I was left with 3 of em and nowhere to put them. A couple Coors and my imagination was triggered. Since I had to remove more than I wanted to out of the center, I also used some of those Schwinn 10 speed spoke protectors to fill in the gaps. Now it’s got ripples annnd speed holes.
This one is always a work in progress but I’m so damn happy with it in its current state. Up next is a different sprocket, 3/16 chain and maybe more holes punched out of the side of the seat pan. Might polish the front rim and re-lace it radial so it’s got the chopper vibes.

Got down on this siiiick @rocklobstercycles for Ian recently. It came into Thy Chvrch with drop bars, and now it’s leaving with the flat @envecomposites ya see here. Had to order a damn shifter from Japan since @rideshimano didn’t make many road/gravel compatible flat bar shifters for the 11 speed groupo. Glad I could make it happen one way or another. Hope you enjoy it dvde.

If you don’t like vintage steel road bikes, what do you like?? IMO there isn’t anything made these days to match the esthetics and feel of bikes like this.

Thanks to Craig for bringing me this killer Colnago so I could get it back to life and on the road where it deserves to be. He was worried folks might think it was blasphemous to put the Mavic Cosmic wheels on this build, but honestly, I absolutely dig it. Full Campy groupo of mixed levels, fresh pads, chain and bar wrap (with era type finish). Can’t wait to get dropped by this bike out on Chileno Valley.

Thank you as always for the support, folks. Please remember this is the busiest season of the year so please be patient in turnaround times and please do not make commitments you won’t keep. Also a helpful tip of respect, please don’t use the shop as your personal storage unit. I think a common mistake people make is I have full use of the entire warehouse when I really only have a small corner and it is absolutely packed to the brim since having my second level removed. If I call you and tell you your bike is done, come get it and go ride!

Had the pleasure of working on this cleeean Bontrager MTB for Ed.
He bought it at The Bike Peddler in SR before they only sold the big S and has taken amazing care of it through the years. It’s original as possible aside from some new brake pads, tubes and a couple cables that were replaced here in Thy Chvrch. Ed also wanted the hubs, headset and BB cleaned out and repacked to “just be sure”. I’d do the same, Ed.
Only a couple scratches on the brake levers remain after being flipped over for a flat fix on the trail. Otherwise it’s mint as can be. YES, it gets ridden. Just not beat on and hung up and forgotten til the next ride where it’ll sit wet, muddy and suffering . Truly a time piece of when bikes were simple, dare I say elegant machines. Also a testament to how if you take care of your shit, it’ll last. Wild idea, I know.
Thanks for the trust and svpport, Ed. Can’t wait to see you creeping up the fire road soon. Have a beer on me at the top.

(((SHOP RIDE!¡!)))
Been too long, so please join us in a shop ride throughout Petaluma’s cutty-est routes. Meet up THVRSDAY at the shop at 5:45, rolling at 6:15. Ride is a little less than 20 miles of flat, multi terrain goodness. Anything other than a road bike is recommended, just be sure you know how to pedal that damn thing. While there may be a beer stop, we mash to get there so you earn that frosty beverage. We should be back before sunset but I’d bring a light anyhow along with everything you need to be self sufficient. Possible El Roy’s truck stop at the end?

Hey y’all, finally get to show off these unreal builds I recently wrapped up for the one and only @purplebmxbandit . Tyler came to me with the idea of building two identical bikes with the only difference being that one would have front and rear brakes, and the other would just have the rear. Aside from that small bit, everything is identical. @zorgbikeco built him a custom frame that matched his existing Zorg frame down to every length and angle. And then the @profile_racing wheels that were laced in house using their Z-Coaster and Elite hubs, titanium @usaspokes and @odysseybmx rims, to the @odysseybmx bars, forks, posts,seats,cables, grips, levers and tires, @profile_racing cranksets/BB/stem, @theothermaj CNC brake arms, @theshadowconspiracy chains and detanglers, @alienationbmx pedals, all the same. We upgraded to titanium hardware in the hubs, stem and cranks, used lightweight tubes and even had the bars, forks and frames custom powder coated. My favorite part was dialing in the brakes with dual gyro cables on both and the dual brake bike with one lever to both brakes. Every detail was done (twice) and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Pretty sure Tyler is stoked as well (as he should be.) Catch him freestylin around the Bay Area and see these in person, they look even better that way. Thank you @purplebmxbandit for always being down to svpport, I appreciate it so much.

Always stoked to get another BMX bike into the world. This @kinkbmx is destined for a rad dad to ride the streets with his kid. You know the future is bright when parents buy BMX bikes and show up in black metal shirts to pick em up.
