Artist spotlight: @itsmelanieherrera 🌻

This Saturday, Melanie will represent the ovulatory phase at our Period Action Day event. The ovulation phase is our internal summer or full moon. The peak, the main event of the menstrual cycle. 🌕

About the artist:

After overcoming years of self-doubt and performance anxiety, Melanie Herrera emerged onto the indie pop scene in 2022 with a talent for cinematic storytelling and emotionally precise pop songwriting. Blending lush production with sharp, resonant writing, her songs feel like a sweeping storybook for the modern heart– intimate, expansive, and vivid.

Beyond her music, Melanie has built a devoted online following with her viral “Nepo Baby Vocal Warm-Ups” series with her husband, Andrew, collaborating with the likes of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars as well as stars like Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman. On the heels of the debut album, ‘A Fearful & Wondrous Thing’, released in May 2026, Melanie’s infectious stage presence and vulnerable vocals make her an artist to watch – and a live act not to be missed.

Don’t miss Melanie’s 10/10 very special acoustic ovulation set at @sleepwalk.nyc 🎫🎫 in bio! taken in Sleepwalk by @cycles.series

Artist spotlight: @emilyjeannebrown ✨

Emily will be representing the follicular phase, our internal spring or waxing moon. This is the phase of the menstrual cycle between the period and ovulation. Energy blooming 🌱

About the artist:

Brooklyn-based and California-born, Emily Jeanne Brown writes “nostalgic and heartfelt [songs]” (NPR Music) about shifting identities and searching for home. After her minimal but visceral 2020 cover of Springsteen’s ‘i’m on fire’ garnered tens of thousands of streams, in 2024 Americana Highways praised her 3-song Nina EP for “music that plays out in the imagination and vocals that sound like a songbird at dawn”. She has since shared stages with Brian Dunne (of Fantastic Cat), Katie Martucci (of The Ladles), Chris Trapper, Marty O’Reilly and Hayley Hendrickx. Her debut full-length record, Coaster, produced by Nan Macmillan, was released in July 2026 through the Brooklyn-based indie label Sunken Living Room. www.emilyjeannebrown.com

Artist spotlight: @anterra.eve 🧚

The menstrual cycle begins with the menstrual phase, menstruation, the menstrual period.

Anterra will be representing the menstrual phase, our internal winter or new moon, at our event Saturday, Oct 10th 🩸❄️🌑

About the artist:

Ethereal, evocative, entrancing. Anterra’s songs don’t just tell stories; they embody them, conjuring worlds and offering listeners space for catharsis and connection. With a crystalline voice that soars between ghostly falsetto and rich, resonant low tones, the singer/songwriter crafts music that is as earthly as it is otherworldly – grounded in raw feeling, yet draped in myth, dream, and fantasy. Her sophomore album Eyes on Trees is, in her own words, “an existential fairytale” – a theatrical, expansive, and deeply cleansing collection chronicling a journey of reflection, transformation, and return to self.

Don’t miss Anterra’s set at our Period Action Day event 10/10 @sleepwalk.nyc
