Sometimes, all it takes is a different perspective to see learning differently. That is what Catalyst Connect Coaching โ€” C3 is all about. We work across the spectrum of academia and sportโ€”from curriculum, pedagogy and teacher development to leadership, student learning, physical education and the many ways movement shapes a childโ€™s development. So when I stepped into the Capacity Building Refresher Course for FDE Sports Teachers, it felt like a particularly meaningful space to be in. This time, the conversation wasnโ€™t only about classrooms, curriculum or teaching strategies. It was about Sport. Movement. Mindset. And at the centre of our exploration was a sport very close to my heart: ๐Ÿšฒ Cycling. We travelled through its history and evolution, but more importantly, we explored what cycling asks of us as human beings. Balance. Focus. Courage. Persistence. Risk. Recovery. And the willingness to keep moving. Because perhaps the most powerful lesson of cycling isnโ€™t about learning to ride. It is about learning to find your balance while moving forward. And isnโ€™t that what education should do too? Help us navigate change. Take healthy risks. Fall without fear. Reflect. Adjust. Try again. As a trainer, I often find myself moving between worldsโ€”academics and sport, teachers and students, curriculum and environment, knowledge and experience. And C3 gives that work a simple philosophy: See differently. Think differently. Connect differently. Because when we change the lens, the learning changes too. This workshop reminded me that sometimes, the best way to understand educationโ€ฆ is to get off the chair, step onto the field, and look at learning from a different perspective. ๐Ÿšฒ Catalyst Connect Coaching | C3 Connecting people, ideas and possibilities across academia and sport by @cyclingisb
