2.1 million people have watched one woman put on a saree, in a YouTube video from Krishna's Makeover that runs 8 minutes 40 seconds.

There is no studio in it, just a living room with a TV on a wooden cabinet and a peacock painted on the wall behind her. She starts in a yellow t-shirt with the magenta silk already wrapped once round her waist, pins the pleats at the front, brings the pallu over the left shoulder and round again over the right, the Bengali way. Then the gold goes on, choker, the long layered necklace, tikka, bangles, and the woman in the t-shirt is a Bengali bride.

I watched it for the fabric and stayed for the hands, because the saree does half the work and the other half is what 2.1 million people came to learn. Choice by Rezwana carries it now with full credit to Krishna's Makeover.

889 million views, 56 seconds long, and the comments are switched off.

That is Charlie bit my finger, the home video of two brothers in a black leather armchair. I pulled it up again this week and read the note the father left under it.

The family did not close the comments. YouTube filed the clip under "made for kids", and that setting kills them. He has appealed many times, gets a faceless rejection each time, and nobody at YouTube calls him back. He shot it for friends and family, and the people talking under it were always adults.

So he moved his fans into NFTs. In his words, they got in early and helped YouTube grow, and now they are off to the next thing.

The clip: Harry, in a navy England shirt, puts a finger in the baby's mouth. Charlie bites, Harry yelps and pulls a face, and Charlie laughs with his whole body. Their father says he could not have staged it if he had tried. Nobody was pushed into it, nobody was hurt for long. He had the camera out because the boys were being fun, and they handed him something properly funny.

As of November 2012, Harry was 8 and three quarters and Charlie 6 and a half.

Send this to anyone who thinks the platform they built on will always let their audience talk back.

A rider in black drops down an empty mountain road, and the camera following is a GoPro on another rider's helmet.

That is the whole of a 21-second YouTube Short from the cycling channel, SAFA Brian, and the title on it is Road Bikes are Beautiful. The title is right, and the footage does not need to argue for it.

Green slopes on both sides, a village far down in the valley, a stone-walled hairpin taken low and clean, then the sun straight into the lens on the last bend.

There is no voice and nothing to read, just the tarmac, the white socks, and the shadow of the rider filming stretched out ahead of the front wheel.

The channel calls its followers Descent Disciples, and after this clip I understand why.

It is the cleanest case for a road bike I have seen made without a single word.

If a descent like this is your idea of a weekend, connect with me here.
