POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Did I mention how I have a lot to say? I am overwhelmed by a lot right now, hence the glacial pace of posting for months. But everything that rules me right now has the same problematic source: MONEY. 💰

I don’t have enough of it, most people don’t have enough of it, like 100 people have plenty of it, one of those hundred rules our country and thus can’t relate to the needs of the majority, and elected that the one person with 1,000,000x more money than ANYONE, be the decider of everything in our trickle down economic model…

So for one day, ONE DAY, let’s vote with our dollar. 💵 Let’s not patronize the idiocy that is Target, Amazon, Walmart, Exxon, Mobile, Costco, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Starbucks, McDonalds, and all the other corporations playing fast and loose with our dollar… 💸

For one day, shop local ♥️

If you’re local to Camberville, here are some of my fav small businesses. Feel free to tag yours in the comments!!

Is it just me or does it feel like it’s almost time for a #muralride? 🤔

Might be time to log into my Cyclopolitan email for the first time in six months and get some wheels turning… Wish me luck 🫠

P.S. I have more things to say and share soon ✌️ by @cyclopolitan

Happy almost-September-1st! 9/1 in Boston is the date of almost all apartment leases turnover because most of our population is college kids, which means a lot of roadside street treats around this time of year! 🤩 So I spent today loading my bike chock full of roadside freebies and shopping the @cambcommcenter’s Free Store (exactly what it sounds like). Finished the afternoon by nabbing a watermelon 🍉 from @marketbasket, a final taste of summer before it’s pumpkin spice everything 😂 Using my @basilbagsbaskets basket and panniers from @bomencebags 🎒💼 (no trailer today), I had all of the following affixed to my @gazelle_us:

🌟 queen size comforter 🌟 rice cooker 🌟 electric kettle 🌟 fruit bowl 🌟 5 @oxo containers 🌟 15 items of clothing 🌟 a vintage ceramic butter dish 🌟 assorted hair products 🌟 a bundt pan 🌟 a whole freakin’ watermelon 🍉

God bless electric bikes! ⚡️🔋

I also made my helmet ⛑️ into a piece of art with reflective tape and stickers courtesy of @cambridgebikesafety and @gogreenstreets. Will post the final sometime this week, probably first to stories, so make sure you’re following along! 👋

What’s the best curbside treasure you’ve ever collected by bike or on foot? Tell us in the comments! 👇⬇️👇⤵️

I am starting a new series! It’s called #LookLikeAMural! Someone last year took a photo of me in my headdress and jungle jumpsuit in front of the @caloblacksand Rosalia mural (shared in Stories) and I thought, “Wow, I look like a mural!” 😳🌈🥳

I’ve also been missing the days when @bostonbikeparty used to release LookBooks to inspire your fashion in advance of their themed rides.

So today I offer you this lookbook series, for anyone near or far who’d like to dress like the murals we will be seeing tomorrow at our FOURTH ANNUAL EAST SOMERVILLE MURAL RIDE! 🎊🚲🎨

Registration closes in less than 2 hours! bit.ly/muralrideeast24 or Link in Bio :)

P.S. If you’d like to be part of this series in the future please email thecyclopolitan@gmail.com with a fashion-forward, colorful photo of yourself, and I will find the mural you match!

For @cyclopolitan rides, we always encourage riders to dress like the murals. 🌈 Whether that means making your helmet into a rooster head to match @zayasart’s mural, or donning one of the colors of the dots of @calebneelonart’s pointillism mural or a jungle headdress to echo, the tropical foliage in @caloblacksand’s Rosalia mural, @cyclopolitan rides are the perfect time to LET YOUR COLORS FLY!! 🏳️‍🌈

Don’t forget to register at the link in @cyclopolitan’s bio! 👆👆👆

Cyclopolitan rides are where you can be you 👩🏻‍🎤🧑🏾‍🎤👨🏿‍🎤

I guess the cat is out of the bag because we have the highest registration numbers and lowest cancellation numbers that we have ever had. 😳

Safe spaces for all. We love you, community! ♥️

Just one more week until our first annual EAST Cambridge Mural Ride, and already we have 🚲
- the most signups ever (215!)
- the most marshals trained ever (27!)
- the most children riding ever (48!)
- the most Bluebikes users ever (32!)
- the most free helmets given away (25!)
- the most people staying to hang at the end (125!)
AND…
Artists are coming! 🎨 To be able to hear the creation day stories directly from the creators, street art tales live on the streets? I dreamed of this day when I started these mural rides four years ago. Now my dreams are coming true. ✨

Thanks again @eastcambbiz @rei @ridebluebikes for making this ride a reality. 🫶

If you’d like to donate to keep Cyclopolitan rides a reality, you can visit our linktr.ee/cyclopolitan for more info.

Excited for this May 4th mural ride and the SUNSHINE that’s happening right now! ☀️ Who’s out riding today? 🚲 Oh, wait, even the people who don’t ride? 🤔 Could that be due to the massive improvements in bike infrastructure and ability for people to traverse the urban landscape on a bicycle without dying? 🙌

In mural ride news 🎨 y’all better sign up soon cuz… we are 3 weeks away and already halfway sold out… 😳 and we WILL close reg once we hit capacity! 👊

Route planning for Cyclopolitan’s East Cambridge Mural Ride is under way! We would love any help you can lend on this, as routes keep having to be altered as more new construction pops up 🤦🏻‍♀️🪚

If you’re wondering how we make our routes:
1) First we prioritize off road riding as much as possible, then protected lanes
2) If we can’t be protected, we prioritize one way streets, ideally with single side parking
3) Then we try to make a route where we are taking entirely right hand turns: turning into the lane we started in—NOT crossing over lanes.

It’s really difficult to only go right. But we persist! Email thecyclopolitan@gmail.com or slide into our DMs for more info on how you can help.

See you 💥May 4th💥at 3pm at @cxcambridge

Fun fact: In Philadelphia, their downtown contains a ton of right-turn-only streets, to help keep people safe 💪🏾
