And… all of the celebrations come to an end.
I’m blessed to have a goodbye this hard. What started as a program became a second home filled with laughter, stress, growth, tears, late nights, and memories I would relive a thousand times over. I never expected this journey to shape me the way it did, or to meet people who would become such an important part of my heart.
To my wife, thank you for loving me through every version of myself during this journey. You celebrated every small win, reminded me of my strength when I couldn’t see it myself, and became my safe place through it all. I would not be here without you beside me.
To my Jazzy, the one who started it all. You gave me not only a new language, but an entirely new community to call home. From practicing my ABCs in the beginning to where I am now, you changed my life in ways I can never fully explain. Thank you for believing in me and loving me through this journey. I love you endlessly.
To my beautiful friends: Kaysa, our rock. No matter how chaotic things became, you always kept us grounded. Somehow the youngest out of all of us, yet the wisest. I look up to you more than you know, and I cannot wait to watch you do incredible things.
Amber, our firecracker. The realist person I know, our conspiracy theorist, and the one who could always make us laugh no matter how stressful life got. Your energy and honesty made every moment better.
And Lexi, our ball of anxiety with one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever known. I hope one day you see yourself the way we all see you: talented, intelligent, capable, and meant for this. Watching your growth has been such a privilege.
The four of us created something so special together. The inside jokes, the panic before assignments, the long conversations, the tears, and the support we gave each other are the things I’ll hold onto forever. I truly don’t know how I got so lucky to do life beside people like you.
This may be the end of this chapter, but it’s only the beginning for all of us. No matter where life takes us, a part of me will always belong to this group and this moment in time. by @cyd.bridges

Dear 2025
Thank you!

Every year we say it went by so fast. In some ways it did, but in others, this was the longest year of my life. If I could go back to 2024, I’d give Cydney a hug and wish her luck. I feel like I’ve shed an old skin, unlocked a new level. I can finally see the finish lines of things I started years ago.. things I prayed for years ago.

There were moments of pure beauty, like marrying my best friend, the person I’ve loved since I was 14. I’m 25 now. What a blessing that is.

But there was also heartbreak most people don’t know about. We tried to have a baby this year. IVF cracked us wide open. The hope was intoxicating. The letdown was brutal. Learning it wasn’t our time felt like losing something that had already started to feel real. Grieving a future we could almost touch. Letting go, even temporarily, of something we wanted so badly. Then waking up the next day and realizing life didn’t pause to let us catch our breath.

Still..I’m thankful. Not in a neat, bow-tied way. In a scraped-knees, survived-it kind of way. Thankful for the people who showed up when I didn’t know how to be okay. Thankful for the community I’ve built slowly, imperfectly. Six years in Jacksonville, far from my family, yet never truly alone. Every time I felt like I might fall apart, someone was there to catch me. Through love and loss and becoming someone new, they’ve been my anchor.

This year stretched me thin, broke me open, and somehow put me back together differently than before. I’m carrying gratitude into whatever comes next. I don’t know what 2026 will bring, but I’m walking into it wiser, softer, stronger, and held.

Please be kind to everyone, you never know what someone is going through, and hug your friends!
