September 18. I couldn’t let this day go by without acknowledging an extraordinary life!!! Honey, thank you so much for loving us all so well and laying your life down every single day. We will always love you and appreciate your sacrifice. This world became a much better place, the day that Mamaw gave birth to you. I’m SO grateful The Lord gave me the awesome privilege of sharing life with you and giving birth to our children. Knowing you… changed our lives in so many beautiful ways. You elevated the lives of everyone who came in contact with you!!! Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

There was a sweet Presence of The Lord during the beautiful wedding ceremony officiated by Pastor James deMelo from Texas and Pastor JP Robinson from Nashville. We enjoyed hearing the special stories shared. Also, a special thank you to Pastor Gordon Banks from Seattle and Pastor Greg Texada (my husband’s oldest brother), from Louisiana, for their special prayers over the couple during the ceremony.

Our deep gratitude to all of our family and friends who ARE family, who came a long way, from all over, to celebrate this monumental moment with us!!! We can’t thank you enough!!! We may not have been able to spend quality time with everyone there, but your presence was profoundly felt and appreciated by the couple, as well as, Seth and me!!! To all who may not have been able to join us for the wedding, but you blessed the couple with your prayers, kind words of support and/or gifts towards their honeymoon, we thank you so much!!! They enjoyed a wonderful trip and are getting into the routine of life as partners. Please continue to pray for the sweet couple as The Lord brings them to mind.

Interestingly, the national and local forecasters kept predicting flash floods and thunder storms in Nashville for the whole weekend of the wedding. This made us a little nervous regarding those traveling in by plane and car. However, The Lord was in the details….🙏🙏🙏 and brought every one in and out safely and gave us good weather exactly when we needed it! The cloud coverage and, sometimes, gentle breeze kept things comfortable for a few outside activities. About 20 mins or so right before the wedding started, we got a hard rain for several minutes, then it completely stopped, so some guests could get into the chapel and the bridal party could line up outside for our processional. After the ceremony was all complete, The Lord gave us a special gift while the couple were outside taking pics…….a rainbow in the clouds! Wow! That’s why we needed the short, hard rainfall right before. 🥹 God is SO faithful!!!

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Texada!!! Congrats to the stunning bride and handsome groom!!! This is the first of several posts. This one is dedicated to the beautiful couple and their incredible wedding party, some of whom traveled a long way to participate. The couple met at Belmont University and both just graduated this past May 2026.

I want to commend Caleb and Julia for doing such a great job planning and executing their own wedding, in Nashville, with the help of wonderful college and church friends, many of whom are also in the wedding party. This was truly a destination wedding, since Julia’s family is from Ohio and we are from Texas.

With Julia’s creativity and attention to detail, along with Caleb’s spreadsheets and financial management to keep them organized and on task, 😆 they planned an event that was top notch in both elegance and pure fun for everyone!

I loved that Julia allowed her nine bridesmaids to wear their own style of dresses that fit their budget and body type, while keeping with her color scheme. And the girls were all absolutely beautiful!!! As Julia’s Mom said to me, “Caleb and Julia are a great team!”

Congrats to the gorgeous couple, as you begin this new adventure together of building your family around The Lord!!! Trust Him completely as you move forward as one. Thank you Heavenly Father for your MANY blessings! This mamas heart is full of gratitude…

Although there are many things we don’t truly understand, we do believe God allowed my husband, Ricky, to be there, in spirit, to witness this sacred union between his son and our lovely Julia.

Ricky’s book, My Breaking Point, God’s Turning Point is a great book in helping people navigate any kind of loss in life. It’s raw, emotional and transforming…with a clear message of hope…an asset to any library! It contains introspective questions at the end of each chapter, so that others can search and evaluate their own hearts. This book helps us recognize we don’t have to walk the season of pain and grief alone because God is only a prayer away and always present, willing and faithful to bring us through, as we trust in Him. Ricky also reminds us about the power of community when walking through dark seasons.

Pictured above, are two recovery, small groups, along with their leaders, @Covsocial, who encouraged each other through grief and loss. The teachers presented the book as a gift at the end of the 13 week sessions, to provide additional encouragement as they continue their healing journey.

We are all on some type of journey in life! May we find true peace, strength and hope, that can only be found in knowing Christ, as we move forward.

I was so honored to present our 2026 college scholarship!! Congratulations to this years recipient of The Ricky Texada Foundation Scholarship, @ashlyncherian_ !! Ashlyn is a 2026 graduate of Allen High School, who has been actively involved in student leadership, athletics, and service throughout her high school years. Her accomplishments include serving as Senior Class President, competing on the Varsity Basketball team, participating in TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators), serving as a Student Section Captain, emceeing school pep rallies, completing a student teacher internship, and contributing as a member of the Principal’s Advisory Committee. Beyond school, Ashlyn serves in the children’s ministry at Covenant Church and participates in Covenant Youth. These experiences have strengthened her faith, leadership skills, and passion for serving others. She will attend the University of Oklahoma this fall, where she will major in Communication and participate in the President’s Leadership Class.

Congrats again to Ashlyn!!!

You did it!!! Congrats to my son, @caleb_texada for graduating from Belmont University with a double major, BBA in Finance and a BBA in Economics!!! Wow! It seems like just yesterday, Seth and I dropped you off in Nashville to start this journey. Your Dad would be beaming, as I was, seeing you walk across that stage, knowing what you had to overcome and seeing how HARD you’ve worked. You’ve shown such great resilience and perseverance! God has rewarded your diligence with success. Perhaps The Lord even let Dad look in on the ceremony and he was there in spirit! Congrats my Sweetheart!!!

I’d also like to congratulate his fiance’, Julia, for graduating with a BS in Communication Studies and a minor in Dance!!! I loved meeting more of your sweet family. Congrats to all of you!

To you both… You worked hard at several jobs and studied hard. That’s a tough combination. So wonderful to see how you supported and encouraged one another through it. Keep your eyes on JESUS and trust HIM for your future! We celebrate you! May The Lord bless you with health, life and strength, both now and in the future. We look forward to the next chapter in your story…

On this day, April 11th, 1998, I made a commitment to love “until death do us part,” and I did. I realize how blessed I am to have experienced such a great love!!! So today, I honor the memory of my husband, Ricky Texada, and the most precious gifts (my children), he left for me before departing this earth and transitioning to heaven in 2021.

I will always cherish and celebrate this day, because it represents the origin of the precious family The Lord has blessed us with!

For those of you who are married…Don’t take any days for granted! Marriage can be tough sometimes, but treasure every moment that God gives you with your spouse. The commitment is more than just feelings, it’s a decision you make everyday to continue to love, support and be partners on your journey.

Special thanks to @the_alex_stone and @the_stone_creative for the first few family pictures in this post, which were some of the last Christmas photos taken all together, December 2020. Also thanks to Stephen Hayes for the recording of us singing the duet, Endless Love on a Caribbean Cruise back in January 2017! My husband loved singing karaoke with me. Ha! We considered Endless Love to be our song. Sorry about the one video with our heads chopped off. It was no way I was going to start all over with this post!😆😆. And you can’t hear our audio either…bummer! Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie sing it best, anyway 🤣🤣

What a wonderful celebration we had this past Saturday, in honor of Caleb and Julia as they prepare to be married this summer! It was so nice to have Julia’s Mom, Kim (from Ohio) join us. Many, many thanks to my sister, friend, JoAnn Johnson @theplanterizer and Don for opening up their beautiful home! With the help of 8 of their 9 children, who live locally, Michelle, Ashley, Abbie, Anna, Dana, Danielle, Donnie and Dominique, they created a beautiful space for us to enjoy, but also prepared delicious food, games etc…!!! Our gratitude to Freda Dents for the beautiful cakes and all the ladies who assisted with food preparation!! We can’t thank you all enough!

We also appreciate all of the pastors, leaders, friends and family who were able to stop by and join in the festivities! While we are disappointed we didn’t get a picture with everyone, we are so grateful you came. It meant so much to our family.

A special thanks to our dear Pastor Kathy Hayes (mother to SO MANY of us) for encouraging the sweet couple with some pearls of wisdom; and also for those who shared some written marriage advice and wishes.

Our sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the wedding registry!!!

We had a wonderful time celebrating my beautiful Mother in Love’s 85th bday this past weekend in Louisiana!! This is the first time so many of us were together for a happy occasion, since Tammie’s wedding back in 2014! Our family rented a venue and gathered around 110 family and friends from near and far to honor her life. We planned a program and coordinated colors in attire and decorations for the event.

Mamaw was escorted in by two of her handsome young grandsons. Then we enjoyed a live performance of Goodness of God and several different videos chronicling her 85 years with special tributes to Papa and Ricky. She and Papa were married 60 Years before he transitioned to heaven in October 2020! One of my favorite portions of the ceremony was when all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were able to be present, lined up to present Mamaw with a rose and hug her while a rendition of the song “You Are So Beautiful,” played in the background. It was very moving…giving Mamaw her flowers ‘literally,’ while she is still living.

It was such a blessing to hear how Mamaw has impacted the life of so many throughout the years through her kindness, faithfulness, diligence in prayer, serving others, hard work and generosity. When she stood up to address the crowd at the end, the first thing out of her mouth was how the grace of God has kept her and how grateful she is for God’s faithfulness to her! Mamaw has always and continues to be a strong woman of prayer and faith and a bedrock for her family and others. We honor you Mamaw and love you so much!

TODAY, Sunday, September 21st, is my beautiful Mom’s 90th bday!!! I introduce to you Queen Eula Mae! 😆

It was our honor and privilege to celebrate her bday, this past, Thursday evening, September 18th, which was my husband’s bday. I thought he would love that.

She raised me in the church with good Christian values and instilled the importance of education by her example. She not only received her bachelors degree in education, but also a masters degree in education and 30 plus credit hours towards her PhD. She got the masters and above after she had been working as a teacher for years and had two young children. I commend her for her years of dedication, hard work and determination.

Happy 90th bday Queen Eula Mae!! We love you!!!
