🎶 PASS THE TRACK

PASS THE TRACK is an open collaborative recording experiment by Nestopia Creative Hub x the WIP Festival, where musicians and creatives of all backgrounds can collectively create three original tracks during WIP2026.

Walk into the studio, listen to the three evolving projects, choose the one that inspires you and record your contribution — a riff, melody, bass line, vocal, harmony or something entirely unexpected. Once you’re done, the track passes to the next musician, without knowing who will contribute next or where the music will eventually go.

The final tracks will be professionally mixed and released at our Closing Event (WIP x Nestopia) on the evening of 25 October, with every contributor credited.

🎸 Electric guitar, MIDI keyboard, microphones and recording equipment will be available.
🎵 Bring your own instrument if you prefer.

🌀 CHRONOPSIS: Memories Made Visible

CHRONOPSIS is an interactive XR experience that transforms personal, nostalgic or imagined memories into digital objects.

Moving through four spaces representing different stages of life, participants are invited to imagine meaningful objects and see them gradually take shape in a virtual environment.

As more visitors participate, these individual contributions accumulate into an evolving landscape of collective memory, where digital traces appear, disappear and resurface over time.

🤖 WORKSHOP | Building Chaotic Painting Automata

This hands-on workshop explores creative coding, physical computing and generative art through the construction of chaotic drawing and painting automata.

Using the Arduino electronic prototyping platform, motors, simple mechanisms and everyday materials, participants will experiment with movement, repetition, randomness and imperfection, allowing unexpected behaviours to become part of the creative process.

🧠 WORKSHOP | Cognitive Warfare: Designing Speculative Neuroweapons

This hands-on design workshop explores cognitive warfare, psychological influence and the growing role of AI, media and information systems in shaping perception.

Working in teams, participants will develop fictional scenarios and speculative systems that examine how digital platforms, communication networks and technological infrastructures might be used for persuasion, manipulation and control.

The workshop invites participants to critically reflect on where speculative technologies end and reality begins.

Meet the artists!

Meet Sergis Hadjiadamos, a South African-born Cypriot artist whose practice brings together painting, digital image-making and archival material.

At WIP2026: FLOWS, he presents Out of Nowhere – A Bold Evolution, a wall installation created from a deteriorated early twentieth-century glass negative plate. Instead of restoring the original photograph, Sergis uses the damage itself as a starting point, allowing traces of erosion and chemical decay to shape a new visual language.

The resulting works shift between recognisable forms and abstraction, revealing how an archival image can be transformed through time and deterioration into something entirely new.

◯ BODIES — WIP2026: FLOWS

The fourth thematic cluster shaping the WIP2026: FLOWS exhibition is BODIES, which focuses on how flows are experienced.

Bodies receive signals, carry memories, cross territories, perform labour and interact with changing environments. Increasingly, they’re also measured, mediated and translated into data.

BODIES brings attention to perception, identity, emotion and encounter, exploring the body as a point of exchange between the physical and digital, the individual and collective, and human and non-human systems.

Data moves through networks. Algorithms influence what reaches us. Technologies connect people and places, while infrastructures organise the circulation of information, resources and labour.

From data networks and AI to communication technologies, economies and logistical infrastructures, SYSTEMS explores the structures behind these movements.

🌍 GROUNDS — WIP2026: FLOWS

Four thematic clusters shape the WIP2026: FLOWS exhibition.

We begin with GROUNDS, which explores the material conditions through which life takes place: from water, landscapes and ecosystems to architecture, resources, organisms, and waste.

This cluster engages with environmental change, extraction, scarcity, species movement and the relationship between natural and constructed environments; the works ask us to pay attention to the materials, territories and systems that sustain us and to how they are continuously reshaped.

Invited Talk at CYENS | An Invisible Partner: Motion Capture of Couple Dancing

CYENS Centre of Excellence is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Gediminas Karoblis, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Vytautas Magnus University and Coordinator of the Choreomundus Erasmus Mundus Master programme, for an invited talk exploring the intersection of dance, movement and motion capture technologies.

The talk will also provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and explore potential research collaborations, including opportunities for joint European research proposals.

Making Inclusion Experienceable: InclusiVR@Work at ICICTE 2026

The InclusiVR@Work project was presented at the International Conference on Information Communication Technologies in Education (ICICTE 2026), bringing its innovative approach to workplace accessibility and disability inclusion to an international audience of researchers, educators and professionals.

As part of the conference programme, the paper “Fostering Inclusive and Accessible Workplaces for People with Disabilities: The Case of the InclusiVR@Work Project” was presented, highlighting the project’s work on using immersive technologies to raise awareness of workplace barriers and promote more inclusive and accessible working environments. I

nclusiVR@Work was also brought to life through the interactive workshop “InclusiVR@Work Detectives: How INCLUSIVE Is Your Workplace?”

The workshop invited participants to explore workplace inclusion through immersive Virtual Reality experiences. Rather than simply discussing accessibility barriers, participants were encouraged to experience them from a different perspective and reflect on how workplace environments, practices and attitudes can affect people with disabilities.

Through both the academic presentation and the interactive workshop, the participation of InclusiVR@Work at ICICTE 2026 created an opportunity to share the project’s work, engage directly with an international audience and demonstrate the potential of immersive technologies to support greater awareness of accessibility and disability inclusion.

CYENS was represented at the conference by Dr Kalliopi-Evangelia Stavroulia, who was also announced as the recipient of the “Friend of the Conference Award”.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that an extended version of the paper will also be published in the Journal of ExoTechnology and Education (jeXed). This forthcoming publication represents another important step in sharing the knowledge and experience developed through InclusiVR@Work with the wider research and education community. by @cyens_coe
