$Cinema was birthed from one man’s curiosity about horses. In 1878, Eadweard Muybridge set up 24 tripwire-triggered cameras on a Palo Alto racetrack just to answer one question: Do all four hooves of a galloping horse leave the ground at once? 🐎⚡️ Spoiler: They do. That flipbook of frames from a spark of curiosity accidentally birthed motion pictures, and with it, modern cinema. 150 years and a billion frames later, cinema has filled screens and sets with stories of how horses run, how buildings fall, how space battles rage, how mobsters rule, how caped heroes save the world, how cars explode and how galaxies collide. Yet it somehow still barely touches the one origin story every single person on Earth shares. Less than a fraction of the year’s most popular films dare to dive deeply into the very mechanism that brought the filmmakers here in the first place: human conception. We built a whole language of light to study motion. We still don’t have enough for the moment we all began. We are over the moon to announce that our labour of love, CONTROL LINE, has been officially selected and will have its UK Premiere at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York this November! 🎬🥳

We knew we were making something special, powerful, and unique, and we are so grateful that Control Line has found a home that champions short film and daring, unconventional storytelling.

A BAFTA- and BIFA-qualifying festival, recognised by the BFI as an event of national significance, Aesthetica is one of the UK’s great homes for short films, and we couldn’t imagine a more fitting place for “Control Line”.

A massive thank you to our incredible cast, crew, and everyone who believed in this project from day one. You made this journey possible. A heartfelt thank you to @asffestival for believing in Ida’s story!❤️

So glad to share some BTS from Run Laura Run, our beloved FIFA World Cup ad, shot on beautiful 16mm KODAK 200T.

Been a pleasure to work with such a talented and passionate crew, making my good friend @wisil.mitty’s first attempt on film. Hope there’s much more to come.

@kodak 200T 7213 paired with an orange 85 filter to balance for daylight just delivered with fine 16mm grain, stunning colours making the yellow and blue pop like nothing else, while blending perfectly with the streets of Camden.

Want to highlight the selfless help of @simoncorleone, @vmi.tv and the beautiful scans of @digital_orchard.

Shot on Arri SR1 16mm film, RUN LAURA RUN brings that fever to London’s worn concrete pitches; a love letter to faded shirts and grassroots passion. Where a girl in a Seleção shirt and a boy in Les Bleus turn a Camden street corner into a World Cup final. Some fans never miss a game, even from miles away, she can feel a goal before she sees it. 🌍⚽️

Powered by @ezracollective, whose grassroots Camden journey inspired the heartbeat of this World Cup spec film. 🎺🥁
