A male Zebra Swallowtail butterfly puddling at Jonathan Dickinson State Park
Usually male butterflies puddle to gather sodium, amino acids and salts which are vital minerals that they then pass along to the female helping to increase egg viability
Taken this week on a Wildflower walk through the park with Martin County Eco Tours
A big thank you to CJ, Anna Grace and Emily for this beautiful and informative hike

Red- breasted Toucan - so in love with this incredible bird! Seems like Mother Nature took some strawberries, kiwis, oranges, bananas and blueberries and mixed them together to create this beauty.
Native to South America they are the smallest Toucan
Shots taken at Trilha Dos Tucanos Atlantic rainforest October 3, 2026

October is Florida Native Plant Month - Sweat bee on Spotted Beebalm
This plant blooms spring through fall and attracts a wide variety of pollinators. Grows 2-4 feet in full sun to partial shade in zones 8A-10A. It self seeds and is very low maintenance. A beautiful addition to any garden.
