Here’s a more in-depth process video of the rooster sculpture by late artist Ernesto Damian, painted by @cynno for @starbucks on Calle 8, entrusted by @viernesculturales, and installed by @brvconstructionservices! This video focuses more on steps and materials used - for our artistic shorrrrties! taken in Starbucks by @cynno

Super honored to receive the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Businesswoman of the year award in the Entrepreneurship category! There were so many strong and inspiring women in the room, it was a privilege just to be nominated and attend. I am endlessly grateful for my partner @dharma0ne, my parents @mireyamorasondon and @danyholguin1961, our awesome @chalkandbrush team members, and both @gableschamber and the @cityofcoralgables for believing in public art and most importantly for honoring women! taken in Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables, Autograph Collection by @cynno

Giiirls! We’re back and we’re so excited about this one! 🎨✨

Join us Tuesday, October 27 for “Brush in Hand, Business in Mind,” a talk with muralist and co-founder @cynno of @chalkandbrush . She’s getting real about her path as a muralist, the messy parts of starting a creative company, and the advice she wishes she’d had at the start.

Expect an honest talk, your questions answered live, and time to meet other creatives in Miami.

📅 Tuesday, October 27
🕕 6:00 – 9:00 PM
📍 Dale Zine - @dale_zine

Over a year of emails, meetings, and design for our new friends @lakenonawest in the beautiful @learnlakenona. Designed by Cinthia Santos and assisted by Carolina Atkinson and Claudia Santos. Some of these murals were painted by our team and the rest were printed and installed by the awesome @freshinkorlando. Go check it out if you’re near the Orlando area!

Boy moms - did you know you can start teaching the foundational concepts of consent pretty much from infancy by modeling bodily autonomy and respecting boundaries? Start now, then teach your sons that NO is a full sentence. Just as importantly, teach them to speak up when they see someone doing something wrong - regardless of their ties to this person. It’s also never too late to have this conversation. For every kid who acted on that group chat’s announcement there were dozens who stayed quiet. Please, raise better men.

Last Tuesday I met Cynno of @chalkandbrush while she hand painted the new signage for El Fresco’s art space. She’s been painting signs and murals around Miami since 2013, so if you’ve spent any time here, you’ve probably seen her work.

Watching her mix paint and letter on glass by hand was mesmerizing. Hand lettering feels like a disappearing craft and I’m glad to see someone keeping it alive. It gives a place character that no printed sign can. Now a little of Cynno’s work lives at El Fresco, a space she’s supported for a while. taken in El Fresco Project Space by @cynno

Fresh new lettering for the homies @elfresco_miami in Little Havana. Stop by for local art and, as always, support your local sign painter!
