Last night at red rocks marks ones year since i started going to edm shows despite listening to edm for a very long time. I was never able to enjoy concerts prior to transitioning, but @illenium red rocks 2025 was my first time i ever just felt joy at a concert. Surrounded by people who saw me as me. And since then i have been to so many edm shows, raves, festivals. Seen illenium 10 times, and so many other artists so many times. This music and the community around it has helped me find my true self by giving me the space to wear ridiculous outfits and makeup, cry to songs i have been listening to long before i realized i was a woman (some of those make a lot more sense now).

Heres to another year of raves, festivals, and shows. With both my old artists who I have been listening to long before a transitioned and to the ones I only found after transitioning.

Before i ever changed my real name, I changed my online handle to CyRav1ck which stands for Cyber Rave Chick, because it is through edm in which I found myself.

I just want to thank @illenium , the rave community and the friends I have made through it for creating a space (and music) that has allowed me to find myself throughout my transition.

While i have been listening to #edm music for a long time (and illenium since 2017) it wasn’t until last August that I went to my first edm show at @redrocksco with Illenium. And found my people and a place where i was comfortable. And through each additional show, I have been able to find more of my self. With the last week of @electric_forest and the final 2 sphere shows being the moment I finally found myself. And that did involve falling to the ground crying with my friends at ef, and tearing up multiple times during the sphere show with strangers who I just met.

So once again thanks to everyone in this weird community for helping a transwoman find the confidence to be her full self. taken in Sphere by @cyrav1ck

3rd @illenium sphere show, second time crying to an Illenium set this week, can’t wait for the final show tonight and once again will be on the floor because being overwhelmed with emotions and lasers is my happy place, and being this close made it even better. #edm by @cyrav1ck
