Hey there! 👋🏼 I’m Cyril, also known as @cyrilcybernated, a Certified Pisces ♓️ and an all-around creative who’s always dabbled in different forms of visual arts. Originally from the Philippines, I now call Silicon Valley, California home. Growing up, I was always surrounded by plants—both sides of my family have green thumbs, and my mom is a full-fledged crazy plant lady, just like my late grandmothers. My plant journey started with succulents and cacti back in 2015 when I lived in the UAE, but things really took off in 2018 when I moved to Monterey, California and fell in love with tropical plants, inspired by my travels to places like Phuket, Thailand.

Now, my collection includes anthuriums, monsteras, philodendrons, alocasias, epiphytes, cacti, ferns, and more—I basically can’t stop! 🌱 By day, I work in healthcare, but my passions go way beyond that. I love sharing my experiences with plants, home decor, and DIY projects, hoping to inspire others to bring more greenery into their lives. Oh, and when I’m not obsessing over plants, I’m a proud cat dad to Monsoon (6) and Illusion (4), my fluffy Persian sidekicks who often steal the spotlight.

Expect a mix of plant care tips, home styling ideas, creative DIYs, and of course, the occasional silly joke or meme—because life’s too short to be serious all the time! Let’s connect and grow together. 🌿 Tell me—where are you from, and what’s your favorite plant? 👇✨ taken in Silicon Valley, California by @cyrilcybernated

Excuse me?! You’re just going to get rid of my plants like that?! 💀

I would 100% rise from the dead if I heard someone was giving away my plant collection after I passed. 🫠

Please at least learn their names first… and don’t you dare sell my rare Hoyas and Aroids for $10. 😂

Any fellow plant parents feel the same, or is it just me? 🌿

I just want to be surrounded by fragrant hoya blooms. If you’re not into Hoyas yet, you are missing out 🌱 taken in Silicon Valley, California by @cyrilcybernated

From now on I will start posting adult content such as heartburn, back pain, knee pain and gut problems 😭

I still haven’t decorated for fall/halloween. Do we even still decorate for the season? I switched my candles into spooky ones. I have the bleeding candles my coworkers gave me last year as a parting gift when I left my old job. Should I use it this year? 🤔 taken in Silicon Valley, California by @cyrilcybernated

The @showcaseofminiatures was so fun! Hopefully this is the first of many. Did we discover our winter project for this year? Hmmmm. I think I should act on it, I always wanted to do a miniature greenhouse 😜✌🏼 by @cyrilcybernated

We finally got to visit the new location of @plantsitter_california, and our trio was so happy to explore! 🌿😍 From beautiful plants to cute plant accessories, unique trinkets, and fun DIY plant projects, there was so much to see. Of course, we couldn’t leave without bringing home a little plant project of our own! 🪴

If you’re a plant lover, you’ll definitely find something to love here. From aroids like Monstera, Anthurium, and Alocasia to Hoya, succulents, cacti, and aquatic plants, Natalie has an amazing selection to explore. And one of my favorite things? They have aquatic plants, too, with fish residents swimming around and enjoying them! 🐠🌱

Whether you’re a seasoned plant collector, a beginner building your houseplant collection, or simply looking for a fun place to hang out and enjoy the plant hobby, @plantsitter_california is definitely a must-visit! It’s the kind of place where you go in just to look and somehow leave with a new plant or project. 😂

And when you visit, don’t forget to say hello to the goldfish trio, Karen, Ken and Jessica 🐟🐟🐟

Have you visited their new location yet? What would you be hunting for first: rare aroids, beautiful Hoyas, cute plant accessories, or aquatic plants? Tell us in the comments! 👇

I’ve lost a few Hoyas over the past few weeks due to neglect, but this Hoya sigillatis round form has been hanging on and is even blooming! 🌸

Swipe to see the sad, dry leaves, but those splashy, sun-stressed leaves are still on point! 😍🌿

Would you believe this is try #4, and we’re still going strong? 😂 Sometimes, the fourth time really is the charm!

Have you ever killed a plant multiple times before finally getting the hang of growing it? Tell me I’m not alone! 🙈🌱 taken in Silicon Valley, California by @cyrilcybernated

Attended the Good Sam Showcase of Miniatures today, and it was my first time experiencing a show dedicated to miniatures and the incredible artistry behind these beautiful pieces! 🏡✨

We had so much fun, literally gasping and switching to our baby voices every time we saw something cute. 😂 Of course, I gravitated toward the miniature plants and spooky stuff, and now I want to create the miniature greenhouse of my dreams! 🌿🎃 The miniature pets and food also caught our attention, along with the adults-only pieces that had us giggling way too much. 🤭

Over the past few months, I’ve really enjoyed watching people build miniature dollhouses from scratch. So now I’m wondering… will building miniatures become our fall/winter obsession this year? 🤔🍂❄️

Tell me I’m not the only one who gets excited over tiny things! What miniature setup would you create if you could build anything? 👀 taken in San Jose, California by @cyrilcybernated

This Hoya kerrii and Hoya pubicalyx splash don’t get the best light in my living room, but they continue to thrive. 🌿 The pubicalyx hasn’t bloomed again since 2023, and this kerrii never bloomed since acquiring it in 2019 but I’m not mad about it. Its beautiful leaves are more than enough to keep me happy. 💚

Happy weekend! May we all continue to thrive and stay resilient like our plants, even when we’re not always growing in the most optimal environment. 🌱✨

Sometimes, thriving is simply making the best of where we are. 🤍 taken in Silicon Valley, California by @cyrilcybernated
