To make sure that our projects are impactful and sustainable, we invention to put the communities at a center of the projects cycle. Through the youth action for climate change project the communities has successfully cared almost 90% of 2300 planted trees by watering them through out a dry season at Bigwa and Kilaka Wards in Morogoro. For us, this is beyond communities engagement and collaboration, it's communities ownership of the project.

A DAY WE WON'T FORGET: MH VISITS CYTD IN MOROGORO!

This week, our partners from Mennonitisches Hilfswerk (MH) walked the very ground our Youth Community Working Groups have been transforming in Kilakala and Bigwa wards and what a homecoming it was!

From tree-lined school compounds to thriving youth-led community projects, MH saw first-hand what happens when young people are trusted, trained, and given the tools to lead:

🌳 2,500 trees planted and growing strong 18 youth climate & community ambassadors across 2 wards 3 primary schools, 1 secondary school & a Folk Development Centre reached and educated 2 community working groups, empowered and still going strong

But the real story isn't the numbers it's the young people of Kilakala and Bigwa who showed up, organized their peers, and are now leading change in their own community. That's the CYTD way: we don't do development FOR the community, we walk WITH the community as it builds its own future.

To our friends at MH, asante sana (thank you so much) for believing in our children and youth, for making the journey to Morogoro, and for seeing this work not as a project, but as a partnership.

This visit isn't the end of a chapter, it's the start of the next one. Watch this space.
