Hi everyone!
I'm Crystal 🖤
I'm a harsh noise artist that sometimes makes time for other forms of art. I thought I'd reintroduce myself since I have a ton of new followers and also let everyone know why I'll be taking a bit of a break from the noise scene for a while.
I started a new job recently that I absolutely love, but running around after children all day and coming home to be a single mom is exhausting. I'm sure I'll get into a groove with all of it but right now I'm tired.
As important as art is to me, the reality is that we live in a capitalist society where our time has to be traded for a paycheck.
But art is also a form of resistance. It's a space where we can show ourselves, be completely human, and fly in the face of corporations and institutions that profit from us being faceless cogs. Art is everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. It's in the way we live and move through the world and see our surroundings and interact with each other.
As artists it is imperative for us to recognize each other's humanity and each of our individual paths of self expression as equally important, worthy, and necessary in a world where we're all being told what to think and do while our minds and art are being mined for AI. We have to support each other and leave space for all of us to be human, the good parts and the bad, and offer each other grace while we navigate life.
As we move through this harsh world we have to always remember that there is so much power in finding and recognizing where there is beauty and life and humanity around us and giving our love to all of it.

My little two-day Ohio tour meant so so much to me.
It had been too long since I've shared space with such heavy noise artists, and I had forgotten how good it is to be loud and harsh and heavy surrounded by people who get it. Noise should be felt in your bones, it should hold you still and quiet your mind.
Thank you so much Ohio, thank you to the venues who hosted and the artists who shared their noise and inspired me. Thank you Danny, you are such an incredible artist and noise is never the same without you. And huge thank you to my lover, my biggest support, thank you for always making sure I'm heard.

Announcing...
a new Keep Bremerton Feared IG page to follow for show announcements and details on artists involved with KBF events.
But first some context and history.

THE ART:
Commissioned by KBF to @dread.jpg for their interpretation of the original crane image (see THE SHIRT section below).
Dread brilliantly interpreted the crane's frame as bones which led to adding a menacing skeleton.
Behold "Skelecrane".
Awesome work, Dread.
Highly advised to check his portfolio and clientele.

THE POSTCARD:
Bremerton's "Hammer Head" is the central and most visible highlight of the city's skyline. Built in 1933, the PSNS hammerhead crane is 25 stories tall with a lifting capacity of 250 tons.
It was decommissioned decades ago and word is it's marked for death by eventual deconstruction.

THE SHIRT:
Bought for 99 cents in 2014 at a downtown Bremerton thrift shop by JL (@get_moned) upon moving to Bremerton via Seattle via Indianapolis via Chicago.

The shirt inspired JL to think the name Keep Bremerton Feared (a play on Keep Portland Weird) for a show installment series to feature noise, music, and visual arts of the harshest and weirdest nature.

THE POSTER:
After 11 years of holding on to the Keep Bremerton Feared idea, it was finally realized on January 10, 2026 at The Charleston @thecharleston333

More events are in the pipe along with Skelecrane and other merch to be available. Stay tuned and keep feared as co-organizers Crystal @cz_hn & JL with the help of fellow Bremertonian friends continue to create KBF happenings.
