Today marks an important milestone for me both as CZAR as for Julius. Exactly one year ago I had my first ever gig in a club, and I’m for ever grateful for everything that followed. I do not even want to know what I would have been doing if I did never get that FLX-4 since I’m finally found my way to put my creativity and energy into something I love, music.

Here is a selection of my favourite moments I enjoyed playing for you (and for myself of course). Every post in this slide has their own story attached to them, so swipe.

I want to thank everyone who ever came to my sets, and in special my friends who always showed up, especially when you were the only one on the dancefloor❤️‍🔥 You know ;)

Besides, I want to thank @birdrotterdam in particular for the support and letting me use their equipment so I could prepare for my first gigs💙

I would also express my gratefulness to @mono_rotterdam and the whole community around it and everyone involved. I would have never been where I am right now without your energy, support & love❤️‍🔥💛

BASIS Talent Nights, 9/8/25, 01:30-03:00

After playing at houseparties and posting some Amapiano and Afrohouse sets on SoundCloud, I started experimenting with UKG and Baile Funk. When I saw the DJ Contest from Club BASIS, I tried to measure myself with other artists to see where I’m at. I won and got selected to play at their club in Utrecht.

Going there with 10 people was crazy, so fun, so unforgettable. We even brought a handcam to make an aftermovie, luckily I have better edit skills at this point😂😭

Gig went crazy, though I could mix this way better 1 year later, I think it’s still one of my personal favourite sets since this is what I really love to play, and hopefully I can perform something similar in the nearby future.

GET-A-GRIP, 22:00-23:00, BIRD

First time opening a clubnight was something different. I lowkey violated the unwritten DJ rules by pushing it to 140BPM🥲

Despite the opening slot, I still had an audience of around 15 people, who came all for me. It might not feel important to you, but for me it means Im actually playing for people which changes everything

‘Baile X’, my new liveset is now live on YouTube & SoundCloud😮‍💨

This is something I have been wanting to create since I have been navigating the depths of what Brazilian electronic music has to offer nowadays. This is more than ‘just’ Baile Funk.

See it as CZAR’s campaign to develop his DJing alleys apart from the usual club sounds you recognise me for, trying to open doors in the underground scene:

Tried and tested out my new fish eye lens at the latest @linkup.rdm function, here are some of the flics I’ve made. If any got some tips for me how to improve my flics with these sorts of lenses lemme know! by @czar.808

ALMOST TIME!🫨

This Friday, October 9th, we’ve got @czar.808 coming to MONO Rotterdam to showcase his sound!

CZAR is a Rotterdam-based DJ bringing high-energy, ass-shaking rhythms to the dance floor through UK garage, Baile Funk and Global Club sounds. Rooted in early explorations of Amapiano and Afrohouse, his sets combine electronic textures with a gritty, grime-inflected edge. His approach connects genres through a shared instinct: keeping bodies moving.
