A month ago, I finished chemotherapy.
As of today, I’m officially cancer free and in remission. What started as something easy to ignore turned into a cancer diagnosis that flipped my entire world upside down and put my life and goals on pause. Going to the hospital every week for treatment was draining, both physically and mentally. There were days I felt like my body wasn’t my own anymore, days where I honestly wanted to give up and not go back but I kept fighting. Even when it was hard I never let myself feel defeated. I held onto faith, trusting that God was walking with me through every step of this, not as an ending, but as preparation for what’s still ahead. I’m thankful for my family and friends who showed up in ways that truly mattered; checking in, being present, praying for me and reminding me I wasn’t walking this road alone. Your love and support were part of my strength. Your presence meant more than you’ll ever know. This chapter in my life was hard but it taught me strength, gratitude, and perspective. Today I celebrate life, healing, and the fight it took to get here. If there’s one thing I want to say to anyone reading this: listen to your body. Don’t ignore symptoms. Don’t put it off. Don’t convince yourself it’s “nothing.” Getting checked early can change everything, ignoring it can make it worse. by @czar1016

I walked back into school carrying more fear than confidence, unsure if I belonged, unsure if I could finish what I started. There was a time I never imagined myself in a cap and gown; college felt like a dream meant for other people, not me. I spent years quietly doubting myself, picking myself apart, believing I wasn’t capable. But I kept going. I sacrificed having to miss out on going out with friends, family events, and precious time with family just to meet deadlines and chase a goal I wasn’t sure I could reach.

Through it all, my family never let me fall; they believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself. And now, here I am. A college graduate with a future I now believe in.
