One more time… JC VERSION

When I first got the text letting me know I would be a JC at UT Tyler I was full of mixed emotions. I was scared of the unknown and afraid to do it by myself. But let me tell you, I wouldn’t change this experience for anything in the world. To all the staff, thanks for the countless rides, stories, and trusting me to lead in my own way. To my favorite JCs, I’ve never met a group of people I’ve clicked with so fast, I’ll miss the countless late night chats, the BOB time, and everything in between. Just never forget that this is a library and a place of business. I will always be cheering you all on! To every camper I had the chance to interact with and lead, thank you for allowing me to be one of your JCs, getting to see each of your sparks light and glow filled my cup as much as jt did yours. Shout out to the best group… GROUP 5, S.A.F.E. Through countless location moves, caramel macchiato sips, stuco songs, a light tap on the head with a poll, and maybe some ubers outside in between, I wouldn’t change any of it. This season started with so much doubt, anxiety, and a feeling that I would never live up to what I achieved last season. And don’t get me wrong, there has been so many losses and upsets, so many times I felt like my worse fears had come true. But I was so focused on the results at the end of a tournament that I was missing the whole point of this activity. Using your voice is one of the most powerful things you can do, but choosing to SPEAK is another. I am a true believer in everything happens for a reason and if it wasn’t for these “losses” I would never have realized the community around me, I never would have found a strength within myself to keep going, and I would have never truly discovered what it means to bring something so deeply within your core to life. While this might be the end of the season for me, lowk top 8 in the state is not a bad way to end it off, I am so excited for what the future holds and all that is to come. Thanks for reading my long tangent, I🫰U. And just remember to give yourself grace, it’s all you can do some times. by @d._r.e
