We witnessed Daphne at Signal! What a powerful presence and performance!

Daphne Lepla is a professional flamenco dancer based in Antwerp, dedicated to honoring the roots of flamenco while also exploring fusion and interdisciplinary performance. Trained mainly in Belgium at Peña Al Andalus and further shaped by workshops in Andalusia, she has taken classes with renowned artists such as La Lupi, Iván Vargas, and El Choro.
Passionate about dance as a form of visual storytelling, Daphne approaches flamenco through both its traditional form and a more creative, interdisciplinary lens inspired by film, fashion, and other art forms. She is a dancer within Compañía Al Andalus and is also active within Reinas del Sur, a dance group blending flamenco with urban styles.
She has performed at Tomorrowland and at the Lotto Arena as part of Belle Perez’s performance, bringing flamenco to both traditional and contemporary stages.

Back in 2024 our first choreography was created and Reinas del Sur was founded, so it is only right we share a few throwbacks to our first appearances as Reinas del Sur.

When a seed is planted; a visual story of growth and blooming through choreography, set in the inspiring garden of the Plantin Moretus Museum.

Earlier this week we debuted a new performance, for Antwerp Convention Bureau, in which we represented seeds that found themselves growing into beautiful and lively plants. We approached this creation through an interactive fusion lens, fully integrating ourselves and our choreography into the museum garden.
